It is really a sads day in this country. It seems that things have just gone wild. However, we need to stay focused and understand that what we see happening is not the norm. Prayer is the only way out for this country.

Yeah! Forget actions! Let's just all pray! It will surely stop bad people from doing bad things! GENIUS!

The biggest thing would be to end the war on drugs, which is the cause for a lot of gang-related violence (a large portion of which involves the use of guns.)

Well yeah I agree. I think most people that are between the ages of 18-40 know this. Why it hasn't ceased is beyond me.

Read in a magazine that they're now installing hand held bullet proof white boards in school.

I think they had good intentions in mind when they decided new guns laws were a good idea I just think it's not helping. Sure background checks will cut off people with a criminal history but most of these shooters are people that are quiet and living under a rock. Or they've been bullied so much they just snap. One day they seem maybe a little estrange and next thing you know their first crime is gunning people down.

The general public have no business owning automatic anything - assault rifles, machine guns ect. There's no reason for it and it's not sensible to have in the first place. I really like the idea of limiting how much ammunition is in a clip and how many clips someone can buy too. They should also make a national registry of who bought a gun / how many clips a person purchased and things like that.

Dont even enjoy turning on the tv or getting online. Evey week there is another shooting. Our society has some serious issues to deal with and the only way to make changes is to get involved.!

Even so with this said, the future of gun control is still going to be pretty futile. Bad things are going to happen no matter what. People have already made guns with 3d printers which means in the future you will easily be able to make your own gun w/o it being registered. Ammo is another story. I'd rather see the bullets have microscopic markings on them so we can easily trace back whoever bought the ammo. It seems more practical and sensible.

Automatic weapons should not be in the hands of civilians. These weapons are war weapons. The government should put these guys out of business.

The general public does not have automatic assault rifles and machine guns. Those have been very heavily regulated for many years, they are extremely expensive, and require a special registration and a $200 dollar tax.
Limiting ammunition and clips is another thing that would only hurt good people. How would you like to be a victim of a home invasion, and get raped or killed because you ran out of bullets before the multiple invaders were all stopped? Who are you to say how many bullets or clips a person will need to defend themselves?
A national gun registry is a first step to confiscation. This has been proven in many other countries. Not only that, with the lack of privacy today, it is like handing criminals a list of who to kill to get free weapons. Not to mention that it won't do a thing to combat crime, since the criminals certainly wouldn't register themselves or anything they have.

Precisely. Chicago actually tried this a few years back. It's ridiculous to see the amount of stupity in this city sometimes. No wonder our crime is high and our gunlaws are the worst in the country.

I agree. They do have to let you see it everytime it is onmaybe just an alert. It takes people to shoot them. The 2nd ammendment is supposed to protect our rights.  Obama is trying to take that away. The way he is going we arent going to have any rights. It is an impeachable offense for obama if he takes our gun rights away. I do not own a gun but it should be my right whether I want one or not. Not the government.

It's a very sad day in America as we hear about the shootings; innocent people's lives snuffed out. I'm also disappointed that our president his administration think that taking guns from law abiding citzens is the answer. How can that be the answer? The hoodlums woulld have guns, and we would not.
