You people support legalizing a drug that ruins peoples lives (Not just the person doing it, but there friends family and children if they have kids) and then kills you?

...People don't think.. :angry7:

Enough people go against the law and smoke weed.

I wasn't going to post anything here, but I have to respond to this. I am a 47 yr old grandmother who's children (or at least most of them...we have 5) are in college and doing well. I don't smoke weed anymore, but my husband and I both have in the past. Honestly, I still would if I knew where to get it. It is much less dangerous than alcohol, it is not physically addictive like alcohol, and nobody who is stoned is going to want to start a fight and kill someone...way too much trouble  ;D  You don't feel "6 ft tall and bullet proof" when smoking marijuana like you do when you drink. If anything, it makes you more cautious. The health risks are not proven and I have even had a doctor tell me it is much less harmful to your lungs than smoking cigarettes. I never drove while I was smoking and would rather stay home and smoke a joint and relax than go out to a bar and drink. And it doesn't lead to doing more harmful drugs any more than alcohol does.
Plus it is a major pain reliever for people with serious pain.

Good! And you are one cool open-minded grandma.

One 'conspiracy' reason I think legalization is being held back is because of cops. When they pull someone over and suspect them of doing something, they will always use the *sniff* *sniff* "I smell MJ on you" routine to get into your car and search otherwise they couldn't. Reasonable suspicion. It's such a load of crap...I'm just under the impression the law enforcement does not want to lose that ability to do that.

This happened to my friend once. He refused to let the cop search his vehicle because he was late for class and they did this exact thing to him. The funny thing is though is he actually had some pot spilled in his backseat and they passed right over it and let him go with a speeding ticket. Lucky *bleep*. Naive BS cop.

After I posted I saw the stats at the bottom...careful.  Any idea how many toxins are in MJ?

none, marijuana is a plant, just like a rose

So is hemlock, and it's toxic. Saying something is not harmful since it's a plant is fallacious. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=water+hemlock

Marijuana helps aid with the pain from cancer, relieve the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, Anxiety, menstrual cramps, Glaucoma, arthritis pain, headaches & many other problems, all studies of research have proven what I have just posted.

Do you have links to these journal articles? I'd love to read them. Are they on Pubmed?

Thanks!  :)
I agree with you about the cops. I grew up in a small resort town and either knew or was related to a lot of the cops. I know for a fact that some of them used to confiscate pot and then go smoke it themselves. They used to laugh about it.
And to the person who wanted to see the journal articles on pain relief from pot.....I don't have articles to prove it, but I have personal experience. I have had 5 back surgeries and suffer from disintegrating disc disease. I can tell you that smoking a joint provides a whole lot of relief...and its not addictive like the pain medication that my doctors prescribe. I am saying this not because I sit around stoned all the time (I haven't smoked anything in years) but because I know for a fact that the pain relief from marijuana is true and works.

So in your mind Cigs = Weed?

The fact here is it does not kill the actual pain at its source. It relaxes and makes your mind not focus on the pain; still a very good trait. This is common knowledge as Lisakin can attest to this for reference.

weed.....  is just a stepping stone to worse things.... some states wont let u smoke a cig in a restaurant cause of the hazards of second hand smoke but no one thinks of the second hand smoke from weed !
