That is a great point.  The government taxes everything, why not pot?  lol  The government could legalize pot and collect taxes on the sales.  Pot growers would then have to be "regulated" so as to grow a "safe" product.  The list goes on and on.

I mentioned the point in my blog that, in this economic recession, if the government really cared about saving the economy they would delegislate things like marijuana rather than give vast somes of money to the overly-wealthy.  The fact that they do not repeal the drug-prohibition laws because of the religious fearvor of the ignorant christian zealots that favour such laws shows that they are more inclined to violate the Constitution than to maintain economic equality and advanced economic growth in this nation.

Getting millions to get high is a sure way NOT to stimulate the economy. Getting the economy going is not just about the flow of money, but also the attitudes and behaivors of it's populace.
