I noticed that some people like taking pictures. Are you a camera bug and what do you like to capture on film? Since I love nature and the outdoors, most of my pics are of the sunrise, sunset,  birds and other wild things that pop up out of the landscape. My favorite time to take these shots is usually sunrise or sunset, because that is when those creatures are most abundant. Birdwatching can take place most anytime in front of a feeder.

I am not a camera bug, but I like to take pictures of my family. I like going back from time to time and seeing how they have changed through the years.

My cousin has taken up the hobby.
I also have a friend who does it to make some money.
Some people can be quite good at it.

I love photography. I'm looking into trying to sell photos on stock photo sites. Meanwhile, I just take as many pictures as I can, and try to improve my skills. I mostly like landscape photos, but they don't get accepted a lot at stock photo sites, since there is an overabundance of them.

I'm not necessarily a camera bug, but do admire anyone who has the patience to take pictures of children.  That takes a special person

My mother loves to take pictures. People joke with her all the time, calling her the paparazzi. Its funny because I am not much of a photographer myself. Even funnier, I don't photgraph well. But I still like to take pictures regardless of how bad I am at it. Weird. ;D

I think some people are natural photographers...

but I don't fall into that category.  I wish I was better at taking photos.  A while back I bought a little Vivitar digital camera that requires batteries.  I just gave it to goodwill because I never bonded with that object.

Can anyone recommend a nice little camera?

I've heard that a Canon Powershot is a decent camera.  Is that true?

Have a great day!

i used to be into photography more when i was younger.
i kinda strayed from it when it became such a common hobby
instead of an art form, but i'd like to get back into it.

i have a small nikon coolpix camera that i've had for about 4 years now.
it's held up extremely well for as clumsy as i am! i love it because there
are so many settings and the photo quality is awesome for such a small
and inexpensive digital camera. i have thought about upgrading it, but
not because of the performance at all, but because i know a newer
version would be even better.

mine was less than $100 and it has definitely paid for itself.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I like to scrapbook...so before I take pictures I imagine a layout ... so depending on what I have in mind leads me to how many pictures I take of a particular event.  Thank goodness for digital these days or I'd be broke in photo processing.

I have noticed that my son has taken some great pictures with his DSI. Some of them are at that time when it is almost dark and the lights just start turning on. Funny how most of them are in Grocery store parking lots, with sun setting and how the sky looks so beautiful. I'm amazed of how nice they look. I think I will buy him a nice camera and see what he come up with. Some of the photos are our desktop wallpaper.

I have kept a camera in my purse since high school.  You never know when something really fun or fantastic will happen! I always had the best pictures growing up!

I love taking pictures. I have a DSLR and what I call my purse camera. I like to take pictures of the outdoors, but have been published for sports pictures.

Canon Powershots are great point and shoot cameras. They have a reputation for being easy to use and good picture quality, and I know a couple of people who have them and love them. Nikons are great too. I have a Nikon Coolpix I bought in 2006. It still works despite being dropped and needing the shutter to be manually opened since I got dirt in it.

Probably the best thing to do is find someone knowledgeable about cameras (like at a specialty shop), tell them what you want to photograph, and get some recommendations. High resolution is pretty much par for the course for almost everything out there now, but you do have a couple of things to consider. For instance, if you'll be using it mostly near home or on day trips, a rechargeable battery might be better since they usually last longer. But if you're thinking about going camping at won't be near a power source, regular (AA or AAA) batteries may be the way to go since you can pack extras to take along. Shutter speed is also a consideration if you're planning on taking action shots. If you need to capture a moment quickly, high shutter speed is a must. The big DSLR cameras are still the only digital cameras that have shutter speeds that rival traditional film cameras (as far as I know), but I know a couple years ago Panasonic point and shoots had the top shutter speed out there. Once you find a few models that will work for what you want to shoot, it's all a matter of personal preference.
