Forum Posting - Using the Correct Board
« on: January 14, 2013, 06:16:35 am »
I am trying to understand why it is so difficult for folks to post their comments or start a new topic in the correct board. I enjoy reading and commenting in the forums, but I get frustrated when I look at the list of "unread posts since last visit" and things that are clearly in the wrong place.  It shouldn't bug me, I suppose -- but it does.   :BangHead:

I don't know. Some days it really, really irritates me and other days it only irritates me. I always waffle on whether I should point it out or should I just ignore it and comment anyway. Most of the time I completely ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist.

This has been a long and ongoing problem. Usually, the poster is new and does not understand the different boards. I often point out the mistake but gently so.  Sometimes the mistake is very annoying and bothers me. You can know that you are not alone.

There is a description under the name of each board that should be self-explanatory and helpful.

this has been an ongoing concern and topic of debate some folks feel no big deal others are very annoyed. For me the hardest thing that comes from it is that folks who are new have a harder time locating correct information when they are seeking information and have to jump all over the place to locate them
