You've got to be kidding me!  I have heard of chunky, creamy, goober (peanut butter and jelly in one), extra crunchy, and now you are actually telling me there is a powdered peanut butter!  I am willing to believe that powdered peanut butter is for the men and women in the Armed Forces or is good for recipes, but it would shock me to actually see it in stores. :-

I was thinking that powdered peanut butter could be used to add peanut butter flavor to items like bread machine breads, whipped cream, etc., other food items that would turn out with an unacceptable texture if the regular peanut butter were used and I ran a search on the Internet.  There are recipes available!!!  Depending on how much you have to use to get that wonderful peanut-y flavor, it looks like the product itself is not cost prohibitive, even for some experimentation.

That was why I chose to use it when making those pudding shots... Were I to use regular PB, the texture would get too sticky and less the fluffy consistency of pudding. And although it was a little more expensive than regular PB, it wasn't so outrageous to try experimenting on it. Also it stores much longer than regular PB, so I'd be able to use the same jar for a while.

I find this fascinating yet don't have time to read info right now. I will bookmark and come back when I have time. I believe I will be able to use this for my work lunches, of course making it easier.  Thanks for sharing!!

I never knew there was such a thing as powdered peanut butter.

Thanks to this thread, I learned that you just add water to it to make it creamy and spreadable......and it still tastes good.

For extra health benefits, someone suggested adding  flax seed oil.....  Very interesting!

Well PSTOVALL You never cease to amaze me!  Never heard of powdered peanut butter before . . .  I like the idea of being able to control the ingredients and mixing with oil or sweetener of my choice and knowing exactly what is in it.  Hmmmm and when you crave the flavor but don't need the calories, sounds like a great alternative.   Thanks for sharing!!!

Sounds like it would be great to have just for emergencies when you have run out, but maybe the taste will make it my number one.  LOL  It just sounds really funny.

That's facinating.  I could see our family utilizing powdered forms of peanut butter/vanilla and other things in baking as a staple and as something to throw in our back packs while hiking & camping.  I dunno if the price would break the bank.  The woman that suggested mixing it with flax seed oil...genius idea.
