Yes, Yes, and YES... I worked at a University where everyone frowned and I decided I would smile at everyone until my face cracked and you know what happened, there were more smiles when I left!!!

I do not think it is. I cannot remember ever smiling just because someone smiled at me.

Moods, good or bad, tend to rub off on those around us.

Yes. smiling and laughter is contagious. In fact, their have been several psychological studies to back this up. Also, there is substantial evidence that some of us are hard-wired to be "Happy".

It could be...  :)
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

:)   Smile!...if you can. Some people cannot smile because they have facial muscle problems.

Smiling and laughing are definitely contagious! It is so easy to reciprocate a smile with a smile....and it somehow brightens the moment.

Smiles are definitely contagious. They can spread like wildfire during a drought in a wind storm. Although, I agree about the kind of smile.. something warm, bright, and friendly is bound to catch on versus something creepy, sarcastic, etc. It's nice to receive a pleasant smile when you're out and about, even if you're in a really bad mood it can sometimes make you switch over to a lighter mood which then has the potential to change the rest of your day.  :)
