My family likes to leave alot of dishes in the sink...even though it is less than eighteen inches from the dishwasher which they tend to never empty unless nagged or begged.  I take care of my dirty dishes imeediately especially when I am cooking.  I hate running into dirty dishes as I am preparing different phases of a meal.  I guess this would be borderline obsessive compulsive behavior! I worked my wy through college working as a waiter in some of the best restaurants in the country so I must have picked up this cleanliness thing from observations gleaned while serving wonderful food.  I wish I was as good with laundry as I am with dirty dishes!

I don't like doing dishes right after I eat because I'm too full and tend to get sleepy, so I'll let the dishes sit there on the table for an hour or half hour. LOL...

I really want a dishwasher, but my kitchen is small and doesnt have enough cabinets as it is. sigh.

my dish washer doesnt work right anymore so i have to do some dishes by hand which sucks but i know they get clean.

I find it so annoying to have a pile of dishes in the kitchen. But it is also annoying to try to wash every dish that gets dirty right away. So Im going to have to say that a small pile is ok, but too many is just too much to deal with.

usually all at the end of the day..but that gets a little difficult with a family of 4 eating 3 meals a day.

I generally do them as I use them.  It is much easier to keep a mess from ganging up on you.  We have a dishwasher but sometimes we just don't use enough dishes to warrant running it.  A typical day in the house is usually not that many dishes but with holidays and some boarders it has been increasing.  I don't like piles of dishes it just makes the house look dirty.

Hi,

I, too, like to wait a little bit before I wash my dishes. What me and my family like to do is to put our dishes in the empty sink(where the garbage disposal is). Whereas, we rinse any food out of the plate first then put in the empty sink. When the sink is normally full then I as the mom will then load the dishes into the dishwasher. The dishwasher does not get turned on until the dishwasher is completely full. I normally wash dishes everyday, but, occasionally I will wash every 2 days.

I like to rinse them right away and than just throw them in the dishwasher. I really don't care much for washing them by hand especially having a large household it is just easier.
