Tragedy
« on: December 14, 2012, 06:28:46 pm »
I am so sad, first for the Shooting in my state of Oregon at a mall, but not as devastating as in Connectut.  (sp), not sure how to spell sometimes. My Heart goes out to the families. I have a grandson and granddaughter ages 9 and 10. My God, I don't or even can imagine how I would feel, let alone my daughters and son in laws. I am crying as I write this as I feel so deeply about what has happened.

I don't have much money, but I will help support in what ever way I can . I am still devastated by the victims of Sandy.   Great, keep on trucking, keep on touching keep on loving, keep on supporting our great country and people. God Bless to all.

How can anyone look a child in the face and shoot them, it just does not make any sense.  Prayers go out to all families affected by this tragedy.

I don't know. I just wished somebody was licensed to carry, as I think they could have at least limited the threat before it went further. Just saying. At least give them a chance before the shooter went further with his mayhem.

So sad that we live in a world where innocent people are killed

I agree that if there would have been one teacher or guard there with a weapon to return fire there might have been a differance.  But there wasn't so now we grieve as we always do when an innocent life is taken.  Pick up the pieces of our shattered lifes.  Maybe say a little prayer and hug our loved ones a little tighter.  And than we do what all soldiers do.  We pick up and move on.

:BangHead: I just want to vent, So I'm taking it out on you "Garydh"... Please, re-read what you said "licensed to carry" "give them a chance before the shooter went further"....... Maybe you didn't understand that this was a K to 4th school... We're talking about 5 to 10 year olds, and the teachers who taught them (they themselves had to be kind/caring/loving/understanding people, [most] not just teaching to get a paycheck, and not Kto8 or H.S. teachers.) I mean KIDS 5 to 10 years..... At that age was just the beginning of their lives...Like I said I just wantta VENT... I want to be mad but I can't, this is just too sad... for the parent(s) who rushed to the school only to find their child not among the others........ for the many people who are effected one way or another....  I'm a 60 y. o. male, never been married, not a parent/grandparent, uncle yes, straight if that helps, lived a kinda hard life... but this.... happening to the very young...I can almost understand mall shootings or even somewhat H.S. and/or university's crazy shooters. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head/thoughts (pea-brain that it is) around this ... Whomever first said that "The Lord's Work Is A Mystery" sure knew what and/or how to say it, but they left out Tragedy in this case.... My Prayers  go out to all those grieving, May the Love of Our Father, His Son Jesus and the Grace of the Holy Spirit comfort them now, along with the days ahead. My prayers are also with you (FCers) who feel the same as I do when an innocent life is taken.(please do not reply F9, ty).

I was at work yesterday when someone came in and told me about what was going on.  The person and I debated, would it make a difference in the number of these incidents if the news did not report these things nationally? Are some people only doing these things to get their name out in the world for 30 seconds of fame and a chance of making the history books? If no one outside of the community where the incident happened knew about it, would no one want to "out-do" what the last person did? Ex, this man "out-did" the movie theater shooter...

Thoughts? Should the news not acknowledge these types of tragedies nationally?

I saw the news of the shooting online this morning. What a terrible tragedy.  :crybaby2:  :'(  My heart goes out to the victims in Connecticut and their families. My prayers and thoughts are with them at this time. May God bless the survivors and I hope justice will be brought to attackers.

I no longer watch the news because all the news reporters are only interested in reporting over and over about what happend.  They are giving so many people the ideas of how to do this.  They have covered this for over 24 hours and more than half of it has been about the shooter more than about the people that lost their lives.  United States worries about foreign terrorist but sadly we have more american terrorist than foreign terrorist.  The country needs to quit worrying about foreign lands and start taking care of our people and stop these terrorist here on our ground that were born and raised here.  We lose more people at our hands than by  the hands of foreign terrorist.
