I would say as soon as possible just so you can find a solution. I had a similar situation a while back when I was on two different anti-biotic medications. To this day, I still don't know if the reaction was caused by one or the other, or by me taking the medications at the same time. I broke out all over with red spots and my husband took me to the emergency. Thankfully, it wasn't serious and was just told to get some cream ( I forgot the name) and some benadryl. Within two days, it had cleared up. Having said all of that, I know you said the benadryl didn't work for you, so I would suggest going to your doctor to see if he/she can recommend something else for you to take. Hope you get better very soon.

I feel for ya!  I've had numerous reactions to a variety of combinations.  I would be crawling out of my skin if I had to wait until Friday.  Benedryl is awesome...When my skin get's irritated due to an allergic reaction I use cortisone.  The Great Value OTC works fine.  If you opt that direction use the cream not the petroleum...it just seems to work better.  Isn't it something...antibiotics fix one thing and like other med cause other problems.  Sheesh!

When I have and allergic reaction I have to go to the doctor, because benedryl will not work for me.  I don't mess around with allergic reactions. One caused me to be allergic to any man made fabrics. Now the only thing I can wear is 100% cotton or silk.

it would probably be a good idea, if the benadryl didnt help you.  that way you can have it documented on your medical record so noone else tries to give you the same patch.

Yeah I agree with the doctor's visit, sometimes over-the-counter allergy medicines are not the answer; not because they don't work, but because they probably are ineffective against that particular issue or body reaction. After a trip to the mountains and camping for three days, I had some breakouts and itching on some spots of my body. First I followed family and friend's advice to use some creams, OTC, or natural medicine first, after no avail I went ahead and visited some general practitioners in a clinic, I described the symptoms and he prescribed some medicine. It did not work, after which I decided to visit some dermatologist specialist, and after a quick chat and looking at my arms all broke out, he identified the issue, and prescribed some cream and pills, and that was what finally healed me. I had some type of dermatitis. Never suffer from it again.

In conclusion, it is always good to visit the doctor, although sometimes it may require a specialist to do the job.

Urgh.  I know that frustrating feeling.  Look at it this way.. while your out you can get diagnosed, pick up and med's and groceries..do you banking etc...laundry just one more thing to squeeze in the day.  But at least you won't have to be uncomfortable any longer and will be able to prevent something like that from flaring up again.  Let us know how it works out for you.

I think you should go. Do you have insurance?
