Buy nothing day
« on: November 23, 2012, 06:38:15 am »
For all of those not participating in Black Friday - take solace in knowing you are participating in Buy Nothing Day - in an effort to cancel out those who are doing all the buying! Woo hoo!

Nope, I didn't buy anything either.  I just wanted out of there when I got off.

Yeah, I am tired of the hype, so I stay home. I have actually found deals well after Black Friday anyway. So good luck to those that don't mind the crowds and sometimes madness.

Save all your money for after Christmas. Do not buy anything today! Do not buy anything you do not want or need.

Heh, awesome.  I'm part of something by not being part of something.  Kinda weird.

Sadly, I was hoping to buy a few things if the price went down, but it didn't.  Still need to get them anyway but I guess I won't get that deal I was hoping for.

I participate in Non Buying every year.

There is no sale good enough to make me fight the crazy crowds.

I think that one would have to be insane to partake in the craziness surrounding Black Friday.  You wouldn't catch me within five miles of a shopping center.  Seriously, people camping out in the cold to save a few hundred dollars and material junk that they will fill a land dump with in five years? I took my daughter to a movie, did a lot of housework, took the dogs for a nice long walk and relaxed.  No pushing, shoving and grabbing items that have been touched (and probably damaged) by every disease filled, money grubbing, inconsiderate person put there.  I am putting alot of thought into the gifts that I purchase and won't be steered by the stores.

Buying doesn't bother me - what bothers me is the rampant commercialism and advertising, all based on a holiday which has nothing to do with it.

I bought a few things online but I never go out when I know there are crazy crowds.  I don't want any deal enough to deal with that.

Yeah, if you watched the news you would see the crazies out there for Black Friday, and how insane the people get. I wonder how many got injured?  Now they have come up  with Cyber Monday. Really, do you really save?
