I'm a vegetarian so I don't eat turkey on Thanksgiving for different reasons. I'm eating pizza. I don't think it's really a big deal whether you have turkey or not.

There's only two of us and as I'm not really used to turkey (we don't celebrate Thanksgiving Day in other countries...although it is slowly starting to creep in), we are having a very small pork roast that we found marked down dramatically. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I went to the food bank for my turkey.  Do you have a food bank in your area where you could go for Christmas dinner?

My mother is tired of turkey and chicken at the nursing home, so I fixed boudin and ham to go with our dinner.

Great idea. I don't like turkey. Turkey is extremely dry. It's just a thanksgiving tradition, but it is not necessary. The idea is to be thankful. It doesn't matter the size of the meal prepared.

So what do you have if not turkey?  Ham is an alternative that I think is less expensive, but I'm not sure.

This Thanksgiving I went to San Diego to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family out there, we had tamales instead of turkey. They were sooo yummy and delicious. We also had a really good chicken soup that early morning when we arrived... man that sure did hit the spot because our trip was about 11 hours on the road  :angel11:

We got some turkey when it was on sale, and ended up being a great price.  I actually enjoy eating the sides more than the turkey.

we usually have turkey with different sides that we share with immediate family, I don't think it's important what you're eating as long as you're happy and enjoying time with the people you care about!
