I made my son a promise when he was born.   I promised him I would never make a promise that I couldn't keep.  (his dad does that all the time)  So he knows that If I ever promise anything, I already have made sure it will happen.  Otherwise I tell him I will do my best.  I've never broken a promise to him in almost 18 years.

I never make a promise I don't intend to keep.

I always keep my promises.  I will let someone know if I feel they shouldn't tell me something because i feel it would put someone at risk and i would have to tell.

I only make promises that I can keep.  That why you have to be careful what you say to others.  Its easy to go back on what you told someone.

I never promise anything I do not deliver. To me a promise is like a contract.

I do not make promises much, most of the time I say 'I will do my best'.

Well if you can not keep it then why make it so most say. Also promises have been broken in such ways that not always did not know at time you can't keep that promise and things happen in life which it always does. Therefore the promise was not kept. Do not beat yourself up about it.

Wow, what a compelling question!  I don't usually ever say "I promise" unless I'm 100% sure.  Also, as a simply colloquial matter, I tend to say it about facts rather than actions I plan to take.
I'm sorry if my recondite verbiage is a little difficult to understand sometimes.  Using fancy vocabulary really is fun, you should try it!

I make promises, but unfortunately they are broken at times. I don't break them on purpose. I really do try my best when it comes to keeping them. I guess that I shouldn't make promises so easily. Promises are such a strong concept. People seem to throw it around all the time. I honestly don't take them too seriously because of that.
