Store Bought or Homemade Pies and Cakes For The Holidays

Depends on the amount of time I have available for the holiday.
I prefer homemade pies over store bought, but if time is short I appreciate the convenience of store bought.

definitely homemade.my daughter buys a store bought cake for the birthdays,but i still always make a homemade cake to go along with it.mine always goes first.and i always make homemade for holidays

WE buy Drivers coconut cake every year and then I make the rest.

I always make my pies and cakes.  That way I know what went in to the process. Store bought pies and cakes never taste quite right.  And who knows what happened in the kitchen when it was being made.

Being a guy, I can definitely say I'd enjoy eating either, although I prefer if given the choice, to have homemade. However, if I was forced to provide them, it's a no-brainer I'd go straight to the store and buy them, I absolutely wouldn't know how to make them, and if I knew, I wouldn't like to make 'em. Don't get me wrong, I can help with everything around the house, cleaning, dishes, and stuff, it's just that cooking and I are like water and oil, lol

It doesn't matter to me.  I love them all and a lot of store bought things are better than homemade.  Save the time and buy one.  LOL

I have the best of both worlds, the school here sells homemade pies that you pick up the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. You order what kind you want and the kids in the culinary program make them, they are super yummy and support the program. It is a wonderful thing

I prefer to have the homemade cakes and pies because it is nothing like making your own. But I do like the store bought cakes & pies too, so it all depends on what you feel the need for. It really does not matter, but it is nothing wrong with having both homemade and bought.

as much as i like sweat, blood, tears, and pure skill(s) in homemade pies, I'd rather buy one and save everyone the grief. Didn't like the store bought pie? No worries my feelings aren't hurt. I'll just lie to you next year by putting it in the oven for 5 minutes, sprinkling confection sugar on top, and then serving it in on a plate from my house.

I definitely prefer home made pies, but to save time, washing dishes and using electricity while cooking, I have converted to store-bought pies and cakes (and actually really like them too!)
