How do I feel about Obama winning? Well, simple, I am extremely happy that he won. I would not want the other guy, you know plastic man running the country.

I think we are all in for a world of hurt now. This election was won by people who are looking for a handout not a handup. They all want their Obamaphones and Obamacare on somebody else's dime and not on their own.  :BangHead:  :angry7:

I agree 100%. I'm tired of working hard - 2 jobs & 2 small businesses and being included in the 49% for it.

Not very good thats forsure!!  I really did not like either candidate that was running on the Republic or Democrat ticket.  I just worry bout the future dont see it getting any better when all our money keeps going to those who choose and don't want to work!!

If you are employed, the bulk of your money is actually going to make up for the taxes not being paid by the wealthy, but I guess that's O K with you that Mitt Romney pays 14% taxes on his millions and you pay anywhere from 17% to 20% or more!  If I must pay taxes in the U S, I would much rather see my taxes going to programs that help children, the elderly and disabled than line the already sufficient pockets of the very rich.

The future is how you make it out to be. To have food stamps a person have to be working. Welfare do not last forever and it is only for the families with children under 4 years old. Medicaid program goes by income already only for children now. So who will deny children health care. People lost their jobs in 2009 as soon as President Obama came into office, I feel it was a personal thing. I don't feel if there are people out there who choose not to work. Some people fall on hard luck. Such as loosing their jobs and homes and transportation with children, they need some help somehow. We never know if it will happen to us, I know if I had money like Donald Trump and all them others I would not be on this forum trying to earn more cash.  :peace:

I am all for dividing the USA in half, repubs on one side, demos on the other.

Didn't we already try that, generally, with the Confederacy?

I dont think we actually put it into practice before it lead to war.

Sure they did, the Confederacy had institutionalized-slavery, did they not?
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I do not believe the confederacy was successful in seceding from the US.  My point was not historical however, simply pointing out that america is nearly split 50-50 and perhaps rather than one side living miserably, maybe it would be best to split the US in half.

I am so happy he won, he deserves another term.  He what the best choice, if you listen to Him and listen to Romney you know you made the right choice.

They were for a few years at least, as was Texas.  True, it didn't last long.

My point was not historical however, simply pointing out that america is nearly split 50-50 and perhaps rather than one side living miserably, maybe it would be best to split the US in half.

The thing is, that split is mixed throughout individual states and such a "split" wouldn't be even; it would be a jumbled checkerboard of a mess.

You are correct there. I guess people would have to be willing to relocate to their half. Of course none of this is feasible, but worth pondering when you consider how divinded folks are in the US, and will likely continue to be.
