At least 100 dollars, since I don't make a lot. But even this amount isn't saved as much as I would have hoped.

If I include my 401K contribution, I'm saving about 15% of each paycheck.  I'm hoping to get that raised to 20% in a year or two.  One thing I recently did to try to help my savings is I opened a reward checking account and am putting my savings deposits there vs my regular savings account.

Reason for that is the reward checking account is paying a higher percentage.  All I had to do is deposit some extra money into the reward checking to cover the mandatory signature card purchases required to get the enhanced percentage.  The advantage of that is if I spend less on those purchases, then I have more money in savings.

If you are interested in doing something similar, the most important thing I did was plan out what purchases I would make out of that account so I am sure I won't dip into the savings portion.

I can't save any money for one I don't get a paycheck and I don't recieve disability yet.  My husband getts SSI but it take everything he gets to keep up living montht to month.  I would love to save money each month we have been struggling with everything.  It is a good idea to save money.  My mother saved $10,000 she keeped it in her house and it burned up last november and she lost everything same goes for my step dad he had $4000 and it burned up so what what ever you put it in a fire safe lock box or in a savings account.

We put away 10 percent every month. Some moths are more and some are lean. Depends on how many days he works as a sub. All of what i make at arts and crafts goes into the safe. It is fireproof.  weighs a dang ton.  Almost 200 years old . But is great to have. Yes it still works with the origanal combnation.

well unfortunatly we have never been able to save but years ago i read a tip that has helped i very small ways when we pay bills or write checks we round up the amount  to put it into the check registry and when we deposit our checks we dont add the change in just the dollar amount..so over several years time it has really added up just those small amounts at a time

I have concentrated on paying off extra bills that we really should have never had anyways!  Now, I am almost finished and would like to be able to start putting some money up..taken us a while to finally get our finances organized enough to be able to start thinking bout saving.
