Star Wars vs. Star Trek
« on: October 31, 2012, 11:13:32 am »
I've heard that a fan of one cannot be a fan of the other, but I like both.  I'm not a BIG fan of either, but I'll watch both when they're on.  Just curious what other people think and if others out there enjoy both as well.

I believe that you can like both, but not love both.  You love either one or the other.  The rare ones that do love both, however, are just huge fans of the genre and probably love series' like Babylon 5, Stargate, Farscape, and Battlestar Gallactica as well.

There is no doubt Star Wars is way better than Star Trek.

Star Wars need to be put on a shelf to collect dust over a decade ago.  Lucas ruined the franchise with the new movies, and I'm sure Disney won't make it much better.  Far as Star Trek goes, it began to lose it's luster after Roddenberry died.

I'm a fan of both.   Probably more Trek than Wars, but I can quote either.   Of course I'm also a fan of Doctor Who, Firefly, and Stargate.

Lucas did not ruined the franchise with the new movies. im tired of people saying that. we all knew what was going to happen in those movies 10 years b4 they came out we seen the middle set first and the begining in the second set. would ppl say he ruined it if it came out in order i dont think so

I am a big fan of Star Wars. I really like the Star Trek movies. As far as the TV shows.. I watched Next Generation a little. I am really interested in what Disney is going to do with Star Wars...

On a side note: I bet ya that when the sale was finished, someone in the Disney Exec offices gave a fist bump and stated that they just acquired another princess... Next year, the Disney princess collection featuring Leia.. hmmmm. lol

I am a big fan of both Star Wars and Stark Trek. Of course I grew up with Star Trek and became a trekie after they went to reruns. It is great to look back at Captain Kirk and then look at him advertising for Priceline. He still portrays the same attitude of the cocky Captain even in his commercials today! As for Star Wars, well I was just out of my teens when the forst movie came out and have followed them ever since. The later releases with new faces for Darth Vader and Obi Wan are a way to get the younger audiences ot follow them. It is too bad that the members of the original cast do not get along as well as the Trekie cast did. Of course, most of the original cast members of Star Trek are no longer alive.

I'm more of a Star Wars fan than a Star Trek fan. I didn't watch Star Trek TOS as a child because Dad didn't like it.  Whereas, with Star Wars, if you hadn't seen it, you were a social outcast in school as everyone had seen it. (I grew up in the 70's). I prefer Star Trek TNG over TOS.

I'm not a big fun of either.  Not sure why but I just can't get into them.  My son has the whole series of Star Wars.
