Hurricane Sandy
« on: October 30, 2012, 05:58:52 pm »
I really hope that everyone stays safe while going through this storm, I'm from PA, and there is so much wind and rain already, hopefully things will get better soon. I really cant believe all this damage that Hurricane Sandy is causing.

I really hope ...

Regardless of whether new or not; this is not only off-topic for the FC Support forum, there are already several concurrent threads on the same subject already going.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

No real problem, just a nudge.  We were all "newbies" once upon a time.

praying for all affected ...

... is as practically-useful as doing nothing at all.  That's because such 'magical intercessory rituals' have zero evidence of affecting storms or, anything else.

I am in New York City and the wind from hurricane Sandy caused alot of damage. In my area some trees uprooted landing on cars, wires in the road along with some fallen trees, I had no light from Monday but now I am thankful to GOD that light is back because I have 3 kids and they were not used to being without lights. I am praying for those affected.

I am thankful to GOD that light is back ...

Unless such a hypothetical supernatural egregore works for ConEd and was out re-stringing power lines since it happened, the attribution is not only false but, disrespects those people who were actually responsible for power-restorations.  Such false attributions are as insulting as they are specious, (even as a 'figure of speech').

Then you'd be incorrect since not "all of us" in the west, (or anywhere else), are 'performin' such magical intercessory rituals.

Hi neighbor.  I lost power and did not receive power again till late Friday afternoon/early evening. Friday morning was COLD and it is only getting colder. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone during this hard time.

Prayers go out to you. I heard it was pretty windy that way. I have a friend that lives in connecticut and they felt it to.
