Just got around to watching Goosebumps and I have to say Jack Black was awesome as an evil-like Orson Welles.  The teens in the movie weren’t bad but I sole watched that for Jack Black.  I doubted I even would have watched it if it wasn’t for him.  (Not that I wasn’t a R.L. Stine fan as a kid.  My younger brother read Goosebumps while I read Fear Street.)  But that scene alone in the car when Zac (Dylan Minnette) manipulates R.L.Stine (Jack Black) into confessing it’s really him by claiming his books are aweful and he’s a Stephen King wannabe is Classic!

Out of all the Dracula movies out there, Gary Oldman’s Bram Strokers’ Dracula is still the closet to the book, though I am disappointed for ‘visual circumstances’ they changed the ending of the movie so that it plays out (to quote Rambo) coming full circle.

I am watching Moneyball with Brad Pitt. I have seen it before but I thought I would check it out again. I think it is one of his better movies.

Just saw The Big Short - excellent movie!  Great acting, fantastic script, and I loved the sound track!

I watched the MockingJay Part 2 and I have to say I am disappointed.  First off why did they have to kill off Finnick (Sam Claflin)?  While I’m happy he has a son (he won’t know about) what purpose did his death serve?  None!  And why couldn’t Katniss just throw the Holo while he’s on the ladder  rather than wait for him to be dragged down?  And to have him die screaming her name for help!  Then there’s  her sister Primrose who died.  Perhaps that was to make her realized Snow (Donald Sutherland) isn’t the true villain.  I don’t know.  I would have preferred her to live.  Then there’s that whole ending which shows her alone then Peeta shows up and Haymitch then Peeta and Katniss have two children.  The only piece I really liked in there was the letter Annie sends them to tell them about her son, Gale (who is now in Disctrict 2’s army) and her mother (now training medics at the Capitol.)  I just thought it was unnecessary.  Once Peeta shows up and she hugs him you know they will get together.  My problem with that whole section is the tone.  It’s not happy or uplifting.  It’s the happiest sad ending I’ve ever witnessed and makes me fell like I wasted 8hrs (if you consider all the movies) for nothing other than to feel depressed.  If I wanted that feeling I’d watch Lord of the Rings.  There ending isn’t any better watching the Hobbits come home after saving the world and no one even cares they left.

While I’m looking forward to Huntsmen: Winter’s War, I’m reserved about Warcraft (having grown up playing several versions), I’m still undecided about Ghostbusters because though I love Melissa McCarthy I still don’t know about them being women, I’m not sure if I will like Kung Fu Panda 3 because I loved Po’s connection to his father and now they introduced his biological father and (one of the reasons I’m against adoption) I’m wondering how the father that raised him will fit in or if he’ll just forget out him since it seems he’s all excited about his biological father.

I don’t get why they did another Conjuring.  (Coming out in June.)  I guess it made money so they think the next one will.  I’m not sure how much Anabelle made and though I did like Patrick Wilson and Vera Famiga as Ed and Lorriane Warren what really sold me on the Conjuring wasn’t so much it was a real story as it was Lili Taylor as Carolyn Perron.  Horror is definitely her element and she is fantastic once she gets ‘possessed’.  I may go see the second one simply because Patrick and Vera are reprising their roles though I will say I was disappointed in Annabelle.  It didn’t connect to the Conjuring (though they fronted it as the prequel to it.)  I honestly think Annabelle should have ended with the opening scene to the Conjuring (since the opening sequence is the Warrens talking to the two girls who own the apartment with the doll in it.)

I kind of hate when Hollywood over embellished a good thing.  I mean before it used to be, okay this made a hit let’s move on or let’s make a trilogy.  Now because what makes money is a crap-shoot anything that makes money now spawns a dozen movies or however many it takes for film goes to stop watching it (Shrek anyone?)

Seriously, Fox animation can’t figure out what cartoon to make so they just keep making Ice Ages?  I know they were going to do away with their animation studio unit Ice Age saved them but come on!  Do we really need that many?  What is this, like Land Before Time?

I don’t get the Purge movies but The Purge: Election Year doesn’t look too bad if I was stuck actually watching one.  Though honestly I like a good scare movie, one that doesn’t need blood, gore or violence to creep people out.

I have the original Pete’s Dragon so I’m not sure if I’ll like the remake, though it does have Robert Redford and Karl Urban in it.

I'm not a HUGE movie fan; I usually find something else to do, bu I do admit that a lot of great movies have come out lately.

Before I saw the trailer to it, I honestly thought Sausage Party was going to be another animated cartoon for kids but it’s clearly not.  It’s definitely got to be rated R for the language alone.  The trailer was definitely tense though I am sure they meant it to be funny.  The plot definitely isn’t knew.  It’s one sausage finds out the food being chosen to go home from the supermarket with humans wind up being eaten he tries to warn the food in the supermarkert that’s what happens (the Thanksgiving animation Freebirds anyone?).  I really am not drawn to adult cartoons since they generally don’t give you as much laughs as the kid-friendly animation.
