I miss Country music.  In fact I miss all the music.  I miss the days when you could turn on the radio and you knew what genre of music you were listening to by the sound.  Back when if you wanted Country you listened to Alan Jackson or Pam Tilis.  If you wanted Pop there was Whitney Houston, or Madonna and R&B there was Toni Braxton.  Now you turn on the Radio and the only way to know what genre you’re listening to is by who’s singing.  You’re on Country if you hear Brad Paisley.  You’re on Pop if you hear Katy Perry and EMELI SANDÉ your listening to R&B but with people like Adele and Beyonce’s 7/11 listed in the R&B category who knows anymore?

I wish musicians would go back to making music.  I just don’t mean going back to separating the sound like it used to be.  I mean making music that one could just listen to.  It’s all night club music.  All synthesizers.  Even country, the last type of music you could have counted on to be real music.  They have gone that way.  And it gets so frustrating to here everyone sound the same in no matter what genre music you are listening to.  Everything is for the dance club circuit and nothing is for the just sit in your office/car/home and just listen music.

With all the music headed for the night club circuit it’s why people like George Strait retired, Vince Gill is playing at local bars and Alan Jackson is going on tours not even announced on the main Country Radio stations any more.  Country has gone night club and I don’t mean night clubs that play country.  I mean Clubs that spin like Beyonce or Katy Perry remixes.  Even Blake Shelton knew this but because he’s one of them trying to hang on, like Keith Urban, he made Neon Light and admitted that he blended the old sound (back when country sounded country in the time he started) and the new sound of night club synthesizers (which is why in that particular song he repeats words for a sotra ‘fake echo’ sound you get with the new stuff.

I could live with Nicki Minaj.  She burned her bridge, with me, when she consistently made a fool out of herself on American Idol.  I really like Celtic Woman.  Those women have angelic voices and I love their harmony.

Have a great day!

This is why I use my mp3 so much.  It's my playlist, and therefore it's my rules.  I seldom listen to commercial radio any more no matter what the format, and my mp3 is nice and portable and fits just perfectly into my pocket.

I listen to mostly country and music from the 60's-90's. I don't like modern rap and most modern hip-hop or pop. More importantly, I don't  want my kids listening to it or repeating it. Luckily for me, my son's favorite artist is Michael Jackson and my daughter likes rock and metal from the 70's-90's.

Country Music doesn’t even sound Country anymore.  So much so that the only new ‘artist’ that came out I even am willing to listen to is Florida Georgia Line.  I wish somebody would bring Country Music back around to what it used to sound like.  You know, something that George Strait or Alan Jackson would sing.

I respect why you like her, but I just don't really care for her music.  That doesn't make me hate her though.  Seeing what type of person she is while on American Idol...that makes me not care for her.

Just love Bruno Mars in Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk.  Couldn’t help but laugh.  Especially with those curlers in his hair towards the back middle of the song.

I don’t mind Ed Sheeran’s Thinking outloud but I actually prefer Eleven year old Cheskino and his cover version better.

Honestly I thought Elle Goulding was ok until I heard Love me like you do.  I think it’s her best song to date.  And the ATB Remix is awesome!
