Although I did not vote in college (ignorance, I guess--had no idea at the time how to get an absentee ballot), I have voted in elections ever since!  It is so important--and I believe all of our opinions in general are more important than ever with all the social networking, blogging, etc.  It also seems like more and more polls are being taken.  And no one can complain about government if they don't participate in voting!

No one is going to know whether you vote in an election or not.  The freedom of speech is what makes this country great. You have the right to tell people what you think whether you vote or not.

Very people have lost an election because they didn't one vote. Presidential elections are won and loss by hundreds of thousands or even millions.

Just my two cents, worth.

I was surprised to learn the other day that it is public record if you did or did not vote and very accessible.  They don't know "who" you voted for when you voted.  But they know if you voted or not.  Makes sense but never thought about it.  I did not like the rest of the story at all though.  There are some that are using it to target voters or Non-voters in an area and "guilt" people into going to vote.   Similar to the charities that have someone send notes/letters to their neighbors etc.  Just was reading the forum and when I read your post it reminded me of the story.  Wish I could remember where I heard it but there has been way to many things through my brain since to remember. LOL

I do plan to vote and have voted more than I haven't.  Life happens sometimes with illness etc.  I am glad we have the freedom to vote.  I have the same frustrations as many but at least we have a choice of participation.  Interesting statistic I read once referred to more people come out to vote "against" someone these days than "for" someone.

Yes, I am going to Vote for President 2012.
I'm probably going to vote Obama, unless something catastrophic happens to change my mind.
I think it's kinda sad that we can get more people to vote for American Idol than we can for a Presidential race.
If people are unhappy then they need to get off their couches, and go to the booths!

I vote every Presidential election in particular and this year is no exception. Of course I am also less enthusiastic and feel I'm going to choose based on the lesser of the two evils (oh wait. There is another candidate, right?).

Hurricane Sandy is pretty catastrophic.... did that change your mind?
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

I've already voted; early voting in Texas is still going on.  I voted for Romney and pray to God he will win and help get the USA back on the right track.

I am lucky enough to have the voting booth just down the street from me.  Don't have far to go and I'll be there :)

Oh course I will vote.  The cynical attitude that each vote doesn't count makes me tired.  Some one has not bee watching the news the last few years, when recounts keep happening and the votes are within a few hundred people.  I feel like if you can't bother to vote, then don't bother to complain about who and what you get after the elections.  For a few years we lived in a very small town and town council and mayor could be changed by 1 vote.  I know it is usually not that dramatic, but every vote counts. It is a privilege to be able to vote.
