I know that sounds petty considering how dangerous it is but we are inland usually only get a few fallen trees! I Pray for everyone else!

I'm just hoping it doesn't hit us here in NJ too badly...  It's the high wind that worries me.  I'd rather not lose any trees or have damage to the home.

From the news reports out here (Southern California), it sounds like you guys better get prepared!  They have been saying it is like a 50 - 100 year storm, a once in a lifetime event, particularly in the New York  and New Jersey areas.  The perfect storm, with 3 different fronts crashing together. We will all be praying for you.  They said probably over a billion dollars in damage.  So stock up on food and water and batten down the hatches.  Don't worry about Halloween, that's when it is suppose to be at its worse.

I live in New York City, right now I am watching the news, its all about SANDY of course, the thing to worry about is those who live in the ZONE A areas meaning lowland areas and people who live in high raises they want people to be careful stay indoors, there will be major flooding, high winds, we are told if you live in the lowland areas where water(flooding) will be a problem then start evacuating, for the high raises if the lights go out because of power outage you never know when it will be back on and people might be stuck where they are hard to get to if any problems occur so its either go to family members, friends or evacuation centers where its safer. I have stock up on water, have flashlights and just in case candles but not really wanting to use candles so I have my batteries, phones charged, hey every possible thing I can think of I have done just in case and this part my older son loves NO SCHOOL on Monday. Sandy should be arriving by tomorrow Monday but all the steps are being taken no one in parks, tonight at 9pm is when the buses will stop running, trains will stop at 7pm....I will keep everyone in my prayers and may all be safe!!!

I pray for you in New Jersey I am seeing on the news that the winds are picking up and of course the tides. A 16 year old had to be rescued I believe in Sea Bright New Jersey because he got permission from his father to go surfing now since yesterday there were warnings to not go out into the water it will be tempting for surfers but it may look safe but its not and as you probably have heard not everyone listens thank GOD he is okay they got him out in time, I pray people will stay away from the water(beaches), Jersey shores. The high winds are the problems, if you think that trees falling onto your home will be a problem then maybe you should evacate go to someplace safe, better safe than sorry!!! I will pray for all!!!

Can't blame you for being nervous at all, especially hearing things on the news like Historic storm, Category 1, Sandy is worst than hurricane Irene, etc. hurricanes and other dangerous storms are nothing to take lightly also we are humans naturally everyone will have their own fears and concerns so I pray all will end up not too bad no lives lost things like that, so please stay safe and you are not alone in feeling nervous.

Yeah I hate bad weather.  I feel bad for you! We had no electric for 12 days a few years ago, and it looks like we may have another bad winter.

Hurricane Sandy is supposed to be hitting here tomorrow, but we are not predicted to get the worst of it by far.  Nonetheless, people were packed into the grocery store today--we thought it was the after church crowd, but it actually seemed to be people stocking up with supplies for the storm.
