I am wondering how many FusionCash members wear dentures. And if any one has ordered and done their own Soft Liners to extend their denture wear without going to the dentist and spending all that money. I have but not always successful, but on a limited income it works. Is there any members out there doing the same thing, and maybe have a better suggestion or ideas or have found a better soft liner, without all the glues, adhesives etc etc, Inquiring teeth want to know.

We both need caps and partials.  You would think in this day and time of technology, that something better than fake stuff would be available.  I don't want fake metal implants, no more crowns and no removable teeth.

There is good news.  Stem Cell tooth implants (stem cells from YOUR OWN teeth) to create brand new teeth, & to replace missing and broken teeth.  This won't be available anytime soon.  Thank you to the FDA, ADA, they will do what they can to prevent any tech like this, simply because if people could regenerate teeth, the dentists would be out of business.

According to a study published in the Journal of Dental Research, a new tissue regeneration technique may allow people to simply regrow a new set of pearly whites.

Dr. Jeremy Mao, the Edward V. Zegarelli Professor of Dental Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center, has unveiled a growth factor-infused, three-dimensional scaffold with the potential to regenerate an anatomically correct tooth in just nine weeks from implantation. By using a procedure developed in the university’s Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory, Dr. Mao can direct the body’s own stem cells toward the scaffold, which is made of natural materials. Once the stem cells have colonized the scaffold, a tooth can grow in the socket and then merge with the surrounding tissue.

Dr. Mao’s technique not only eliminates the need to grow teeth in a Petri dish, but it is the first to achieve regeneration of anatomically correct teeth by using the body’s own resources. Factor in the faster recovery time and the comparatively natural process of regrowth (as opposed to implantation), and you have a massively appealing dental treatment.

Columbia University has already filed patent applications in regard to the technology and is seeking associates to aid in its commercialization. In the meantime, Dr. Mao is considering the best approach for applying his technique to cost-effective clinical therapies.

i wear upper dentures and i hate them   sure they are prettier than my old teeth, but food doesnt taste the same anymore, so i usually leave them out unless i plan on going somewhere.  it was expensive and i should have just tried to save my own teeth

On line I found a Perma Soft Liner just like the dentist does in his office. I ordered it and will let you know my results.

I wear dentures or partials on the upper teeth.they are a pain not that they hurt but annoying and i forget to put them in i have 5 front teeth that are my own, so fine if i don't smile to much and sometimes when i wear them i'll whistle when i talk.

Om I would love to have my beautiful smile back,  even if that meant having dentures.  Now after reading some of these comments I am not so sure about dentures.

  It's nice to know that something new is developing,i had to get some of my back teeth remove and I was thinking about getting implants.

i brush and floss everyday and my teeth still get cavities. i am trying so hard but something always happens. i will probably need dentures early in life. i never had a teeth cleaning EVER and kinda blame it on that fact because my teeth get cavities right around the bottom. i am working on getting a job so i can start getting dental care. my hubbymakes too much not enough type deal

  My dentures were uncomfortable for a few months, but I found out that I could ground down my own dentures where my mouth was hurting here at home and now they are great. You should have complete suction to the roof of your mouth for your uppers. If you don't, go back to your dentist.

I too wear them. Did not want them at the ripe old age of 22. But had a bad fall and landed right on my mouth and busted everything. They put gold fillings ( to hold partials and i ended up in the hosptial for 2 weeks , found out i was allergic to gold so everything was yanked out and dentures put it. Back in those days they didn't have all this new fangled stuff. Oh yeah i am still wearing the same uppers. and am now 69. They were hand made from a new material of some sort. not plastic. They fit so so well i delivered 2 children with them in and had surgery also. You just have to get a pair that fit good.

I dont have dentures,  I have a lot of bridge work though.  I'm thinking if I ever break my bridges then I will probably end up getting dentures in the future.

        I wonder which method is the best? Some people do not like any glue on their gums.

I know I need detures and can't afford to have my teeth removed because I have no income and my husband is on SSI.  I have state medical but they don't don't cover dental.  My teeth are really bad and constantly going to the ER because they cover that.  My teeth are really bad because of all the prescription drugs the doctors give me for all my medical problems.  So I have to say no to your question but I wish that was my problem than I would not have to suffer really really bad teeth pain.
