Writing a Book

I have  just written a book.  Have never done it before.  Didn't know I could write at all, but it just came every day naturally, 2 to 3 chapters a day.  I need some help with re-writing and editing but don't have to funds to pay anyone to do it.  Does anyone know of any free help or free downloadable programs that could help me.  I appreciate all your help.  This is based on true events but with some fiction added for effects.

I have never written a book but have some friends who have. They usually rely on folks close to them to complete the first round of editing, then they leave it on the shelf for 3 months and then do an edit themselves. After that they usually begin the process of trying to get a publisher. Good Luck.
