I believe today's Israel still chosen by God
« on: October 18, 2012, 05:40:57 pm »
I feel that many Christians today do not realize how much today's physical Israel has strayed from even barely resembling any past remnant of God's Chosen People of Israel. I feel this is a huge deception that thousands if not millions of Christians have fallen for, and I would like to present some ideas that you should at least consider. Considering Israel as God's chosen people after the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ makes the New Covenant between Jesus Christ and His Church seem like a secondary issue, as if Israel is more important than true followers of Christ. Although there aren't a lot of things in this world that can be considered "black and white," I feel this issue is. One is either a born-again member of the Body of Christ and part of the Church, or one is not. There can be no middle ground. Which means Israel cannot possibly be God's chosen people anymore.

Read the bible (Mat. 3:1-12; Acts 10:34-35; Rev. 2:8-9; 3:7-9).

After you read the bible please let me know your opinion, THANKS  :angel12:

Your question was steered toward Christians, and not all who believe in GOD. So therefore I cant answer that question for Christians.

I don't have an "opinion", (as in, a faith-based specious assumption based on a belief without evidence), in this regard.  Instead, there's the rational observation that a person is already "born" and any metaphysically-based second birth is nonsensical on the basis of the utter lack of evidence to support that religious opinion.  The conclusion then becomes; one is either deluding themselves with a faith-based illogic of being
"born-again" or, one is not.  Parenthetically, these forums are not moderated by some newbie fundamentalist; they're moderated by FC staff.  That means that neither a newbie fundie nor any other member of FC gets to dictate the content or form of any replies to their irrational religious rantings.  Your "beliefs", once publically posted, are open to contention.  If someone doesn't like that otehrs have the option of dissent, they can choose not to post contentious subject matter.  There's no obligation to let such contentious subjects go unopposed.

One is either a born-again member of the Body of Christ and part of the Church, or one is not. There can be no middle ground. Which means Israel cannot possibly be God's chosen people anymore.

You are right God has still chosen Israel but not all Jews are Israelite s and I  Israelite s are Jews there are other tribes of Israel. That were taking Out of land lost to our knowledge of this time! The book of Mormon is a record of some of those tribes and tribe of Joseph as recorded on the book of Mormon and the Bible it says take years take a right I offer tribe of Judah he take another stick and writing on for the tribe of Joseph in the sticks all records like the Bible and the book of Mormon is another record of God's dealing with his people on this earth Bible is God's dealing with people on the old world and the book of Mormon is God's dealing with people in the New World on this!

The book of Mormon is a record ...

No, it's not a "record" of anything other than unsubstantiated fiction since it relies entirely upon dubious hearsay and no supporting evidence whatsoever, (bearing in mind that blind faith/empty belief is not substantive evidence).

Speaking as a Jewish person born and raised (albait a reformed Jew and not orthodox or conservative) We are the choosen people. We recently just celebrated Simhact torah, the celebration of receiving the five books of Moses, and if anyone thinks about it the ten commandments were giving to a Jew. We may not go by the new testament but ........ anyway our concregation always encourages our congregents to bring non Jewish friends in for services. We don't try to convert them or anything but it allows them to see what we are about. Our Rabbi or Canter will answer any questions asked of them and if they don't know the answer they will get it some way. We had about 30-40 people come from one of the local churches to see the service. Our Rabbi unrolls the torah all the way around the santuary for this holiday with the congregets over age thirteen hold the scroll pages, with gloves on, and he incourages not only our younger kids to follow him as he points out certain  parts, but any guests to follow along as well. Many people have never even seen a Torah muchless up that close. He will even pull out our Holicaust(however) torah and let people see it. See the burn marks in the parchment and stains that is sustained before it was rescued. Of course it isn't unrolled around the sanctuary but still.
One final thought: ask yourself why it was the Jews that were given the ten commandments and the old testament as it is more often called outside of Judiasim.

Of course it is, 1500 years God inspired the Bible...I don't think that Israel is going to be removed, look at what they have been through, far worse than this, Jesus will return for His people, the jew and the gentile

What a pretentious and sanctimonious claim; doubtless based upon the religious hearsay of 'biblical old testements', (a testement being hearsay based upon religious belief which is in turn, based upon religious faith, etc. in a circular fest of unsubstantiated superstitions).

No, they self-declare as "jewish" or "hebrews". Though some claimto be "xtian-jews", that appears to much the same as proclaiming one is a "baptist-satanist".

Unless you can present actual non-biblical evidence, (because that's not evidence, it's faaith-based religious hearsay), your contention lacks any valid basis and is merely an empty opinion.
