Ray Walston from "my favorite martian" was born in 1914
Jonathan Frid who played Barnabas Collins in the original Dark Shadows was born in 1924
Monica Seles tennis champ, was born in 1973
Nelly Furtado was born in 1978
Britney Spears was born in 1981

Harrison Ford (not that Harrison Ford! The silent film star.) died in 1957
Sabu of Jungle Book fame, died in 1963
Ricky Ricardo sang Babaloo for the last time,as Desi Arnaz died in 1986
Actor Robert Cummings died in 1990

Ray Walston was good in My Favorite Martian.  I remember my dad enjoying that show.

I got hooked on the original Dark Shadows when I was a teen.

Ricky Ricardo really loved performing Babaloo, didn't he?  He really enjoyed it when "Little Ricky" would join in on his drums, too.  His little voice was so cute singing with Ricky.

I'm enjoying your posts!  :)

Thanks!
Bill Bixby,my favorite actor was also in My Favorite Martian. But,I'll always think of Ray as "Poopdeck Pappy" in the Popeye film with Robin Williams. That's one of my all time favorite films.

Yeah,my mother was a fan in her teens of Dark Shadows as well. She turned me on to it years later when the reruns were run on the Sy-fy channel.Frid was probably my favorite vampire. His was the first to really earn your sympathy-long before it beacme fashonable for a vampire to do so!
That's right - Bill Bixby!  Wasn't he the actor who played Incredible Hulk in the older tv series?  Lol, I agree the "Poopdeck Pappy" was played by Ray well!

That's right.Bix played Doctor David Banner in one of my favorite series,The Incredible Hulk.I'm actually a long time member of the Hulk TV series site's message board. It's one of the other forums I belong to when I'm not posting here.

I just read this week that Frankie Muniz had a mini stroke.  He said he wished he had paid more attention to the fact that his eye clouded over where he couldn't see well out of it, and his speech started slurring - but he wasn't thinking that much of it, until the stroke happened.  That's a young age for that, but I guess none of us ever knows what could happen to any of us at any age...

You can google or search for things that happened in today's history.  Some homepages on your computer will have sections for today's history, celebrity's birthdays, quotes, etc.

Jesus was born on Dec 25. Does anyone no the year?

"Two independent approaches can be used to estimate the year of birth of Jesus, one based on the nativity accounts in the gospels, the other by working backwards from the date of the start of his ministry. Most scholars assume a date of birth between 6 and 4 BC."

Thank you for sharing those daily facts. I love reading facts about the current day in history. It can be so interesting how many different historic things have happened on the same days.

Yes, lol, I knew!  It is a shame, though, that what used to be a fairly common name has now been changed to such an ugly meaning.  I wonder how Van Patten and Richard Nixon would feel about that today?
