Happiness comes from within.  People cannot make you happy, however the "actions" of other people can make you "feel" happy or unhappy.  My philosphy :)

Nice philisophy, but the bible hold a better means by wish happiness can come from within and make you a better person ...

I agree with "WaulML" because the reasoning is sound; as opposed to basing 'happinesss" on a specious religious belief/blind faith without basis.

I agree about happiness within, and how you can choose to be happy or not.  I also agree, as a Christian, that having the joy of the Lord is a certain happiness for me.

Please note that I am not proselytizing, simply giving my opinion from my own personal experience that has nothing whatsoever to do with your personal experience.

Joy cometh in the morning.  Happiness is within, to be happy is through faith.  Your faith will give you the strength to build that unforseen happiness.

Mentioning some vague "joy of the lord" feeling is promoting some unspecified religiously-based notion.

I agree and your philosophy sounds correct as well.  My only other thought is:  sometimes things that people say or do that make you happy or unhappy cannot be dismissed that easily.  Sometimes the comments and/or actions weigh on your mind causing you to procrastinate and dwell on them.  Of course, when they are favorable that would be a good thing; on the other hand, when they are unfavorable they can make a person feel inadequate or even depressed.  Emotions are a very funny thing!!!!

Oh, so now you are trying to censure even my opinion on the matter, after I went to the trouble of noting to you that it was based on my experience, not yours.  You are wrong for trying to keep me from expressing what I said, falcon9.  You are not allowed to do that.  Stop with your ridiculous nonsense.

No, that's your game, not mine.

No sir.  You are the one accusing me of proselytizing when I made clear that I was giving my own personal opinion from my own personal experience.  I also spoke of happiness within from self, as well.  You, by saying what you said, are trying to accuse me of something I am not doing, by sharing my opinion of the matter.  It's NOT your experience and I included that as well.  So, why in the world does it bother you so much, that you are trying to shut me up from my own personal opinion in the matter?  You mind your opinion and I will mind mine.

Your "opinion" consists of propagandizing a religious belief system via 'testimony' of blind faith.
My reasoned opposition of the blind faith part of your "opinion" is one which uses logic to rebute your illogic.

Happiness definately comes from within. Sometimes I can be extremely happy and five minutes with a depressed person can change that.

Well put, happiness does come from within. Who knows what makes you happy better than yourself. As a Christian, i find happiness in JESUS, my family, and myself. Life is great! :angel11:

As a non-xtian, I can observe that finding happiness in a superstitious belief is a self-delusion which is 'rude' to spread, given xtianity's history of atrocities.
