I know my cats always like to sit at the highest point available.

omg, my grown cat does this. He loves to jump on my back and onto my shoulders and let me walk around, lol. It's the strangest thing!

When my cat was a kitten she used to sleep on my chest when I was a sleep. I woke up a couple of times throwing her off of me not realizing what was laying on me. :dontknow:

Yep, they like the highest point possible, lol. I think too, they like to be near your face :)

We got my cat when she just under 3 months old and she loved to perch on both my shoulder and my chest. She is now a little over a year old and she still loves to do it.

We got a kitten from the shelter...when we were trying to pick which one we wanted she actually picked up...she leaped out of her cage and perched herself on my fiance's shoulder and that's where she wanted to stay.  She reminded us of a parrot on a pirate's shoulder..lol  :cat:

I don't see that very unusual. I have had many cats in the past and as a kitten they seem to need the warmth of a Body! The seem to ween there way off their mother that way. They also seem to attach theirselves more to woman because they sense the maternal instinct.

My dog likes to do that, but that's more cause she's leaning over the back of the couch and the paws just rest on my shoulder.  Personally though, I've never seen a cat do that.  Normally they like to sit on my lap and cuddle right there when it comes to me.  Sounds adorable though.  You should get a picture if your cat does that again.

My daughter works with rescue cats and she has one that loves to get up on her shoulder. there is even one that if her hair is pulled up another cat will wrap around the back of her neck with its head on one side and the rump on the other and likes to sit like that when my daughter is tryng to work. :cat:

Any cat I've ever had either liked to sleep and purr on my chest (when I'm lying down) or climb all over me (when I am upright).
