I consider myself to be a pretty good speller, but I can never remember how to spell supossed.  Or suppossed. Or supposed. There it is.  That's the right one.  I don't know what type of mental block exists for spelling that word correctly, but it does!  And matress.  Mattress.  2 t's.  Got it.   :-

My mental block is principle and principal.  I always need to remember - the principal is your PAL.

I can't spell "inconvenient" for the life of me, even though I'm a writer by profession! It's just one that I always get caught up on, but I've noticed that a lot of other people do too!  ;)

Yes! It seems very few on the Internet know how to spell the word "definitely". I almost always see it spelled "definately", and it drives me nuts! It's not even pronounced with a "nate" sound, so why do people spell it that way?!

That is a big one, I agree. Maybe people need to remember that Finite is the base word. That might help them to spell definitely and infinitely, etc.

You can find me on Youtube!

I found a new word, "alot."  It used to be "a lot," but now I see this artificial word, "alot" in quite a number of postings.

I have sometimes written a word and if I happen to really look at it, it tends to look wrong, but actually it is right!  Our brains are something else!

Another newly invented word for all the illiterates out there, "noone."  No, it's not intended to mean "noon," as in 12 o'clock noon, it's another made up word for people who never learned to read or write and a word that the rest of us are expected to understand as "no one."

I always get my "i" and "e" backwards. Like "received" and other words like that.

When every I need to spell one of these words I always remember " i before e except after c"  ... LOL
I guess I was paying attention in school.

I see people using "no" for "know" on FB a lot - drives me crazy. Everyone makes mistakes but when someone does it all the time it's not a spelling issue, LOL Also, as an editor, I can't stand to see "irregardless" as it is not a word. The word is "regardless" but people who use it teach it to their kids and keep it going, ahhhhhhhh :BangHead:

Government...............people are always forgetting the n.  Too, To, Two,      there, they're, their,     your, you're     license  (I see this all the time with the s and c reversed).   kindergarten spelled kindergarden
It seems like there are very few people nowadays that know the difference between to, too and two. I very rarely see anybody actually use the word "too", as in also. they usually just write "to."
