what do you do when you can't sleep

I am a chronic insomniac.  Didn't sleep for years, unless you count 3 hrs a night as sleep.  I call that a nap.  LOL.  So years ago I started taking prescription sleeping pills.  Started with Ambien and when they didn't keep me asleep, I went on Tamazepam.  They  have been a lifesaver for me.  I get 7-8 hrs. a night, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.  But I wake up feeling good, and have energy to get things done.  I'll be a lifer on these pills.

I read a book that i wouldn't usually read. Usually puts me to sleep faster than if i were to watch television or use the computer.

Read or listen to music

Watch some of my shows on my DVR or either play pogo till I just cant keep my eyes open anymore.

Lay in bed an go on FC or o something dull/tiring

If I can't sleep, I take a survey.  Usually does the job of putting me back to sleep knowing I made some money.

Drink Milk... Go ahead and try it, that should put you to sleep.

I get up and drink a glass of milk too.  It usually helps me to fall back to sleep.

I usually will either get on the computer or watch some tv till I start to feel tired.

Staying up at night using the internet actually does not help me get to sleep. It would keep me awake. I have to wrench myself away from the computer. I can instantly fall asleep in bed within 5 minutes under the dark. I rarely suffer from insomnia.

I like to read or play on my iPhone if I can't sleep.
The other night I was playing a game on my phone and almost fell asleep halfway through.
