With all the changes and improvements since 9/11 do you feel any more secure?

Heck no! That's why we relocated half our business to Washington from Arizona-- we have gold mines down by the Mexican Border, and every time we go out everyone is armed-- including me. Usually, the other half and the guys are mining, and I'm on guard with my M-1 Garand and the 44 Revolver for backup-- never had to shoot anyone, but it was dicey more than once. The desert in AZ is a war zone-- especially since that jumped up communist got into office and made our stupid ex-governor head of Homeland Security. That woman (Napolitano) was bad enough for Arizona, and she's worse for the country. I feel sorry for our border patrol, and my friends still living in the war zone.

I am not fully sure we are safer. I just see too many things now days that you wouldn't have noticed before and I get suspicious. I'm suspicious of people more than I was before 9/11.

I believe the latest ramp up in embassy attacks is just a forerunner to an attack in the USA. I think they could do something anytime they put their mind to it. It just depends on how big they want to go. If we can not protect our embassy in an area we know is dangerous then how can we protect all the potential targets in the USA?

I feel safer knowing that Steven Seagal is on the border patrol down in New Mexico.

Maybe we are safer now than then because we have other groups watching after our safety too.

Hmeland security makes us less safe, because now not only are we in danger from outside terrorists, we are in danger from the communist government. The DHS is the Gestapo and KGB by another name.

To be honest, I think we were a whole lot more secure before 9/11 than we are now.  After 9/11, people started talking about potential targets for terrorists - I have little doubt they listened to all that and made plans based on it.  The government is watching its people more than they are any possible terrorists.

I don't think homeland security has made up more secure.   The borders are not secure.

Homeland Security just reorganized all of the domestic protection agencies under one roof.  Now we pay more administrative fees for the same service. The one thing I would like to see go is TSA.  It really is nothing but a hassle and makes me feel less safe watching women and children being molested.

What molestation; are you suggesting teh TSA does this?  Are your also suggesting that you'd rather have hijacked planes than 'suffer' a little "hassle" at the airport?
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Have you flown recently?? Yes you have to be safe but, the way that TSA is going about it is totally stupid, checking dipers of old people and baby's, give me a break. You can do a scan of a wand on people like this and clear them through. I worked for the Government and some of the things they do is totally out of the realm of "common sense". There was even a case of someone that was wearing a Colonostomy bag, the tsa agent was told the individual was wearing a bag and the agent wound up breaking the bag on the 84 year old man, no apologies, no regard whatsoever!!There has got to be a different way, one size does not fit all!!!

It's a matter of compromise; either such things are checked or, radical religious fundies will consider using them if they're not checked.  Though the TSA has specific security procedures, individual personnel apply them in varying ways.  A "wand" checks for metallic items, not non-metallic prohibited items.  If you must blame someone for excessive security measures, place it on the religious terrorists who have shown no compunction about using any methods of cowardly attack.
