When The Green Mile came out on video I asked my friends--is this movie worth seeing?  After all, Stephen King's books don't always translate to film all that well.  And everyone I asked said--without exception, "Oh, you've got to see The Green Mile!  It's one of the best movies I've ever seen!  You've got to see it!"

They were right.  It is one of the best movies I've ever seen.  I've watched it dozens of times.  It has one of the best ensemble casts I've ever watched.  It is something special--and Michael Clarke Duncan's performance is one of the reasons why.

Too sad, the only movie I really learn about him was the green mile. I know he'd had other movies but I wouldn't know it at first site. He reminded me so much of a very gentle giant. I feel bad also for his Fiancee cause they never reached the marriage alter! RIP big guy! :crybaby2:

I was always amazed by Michael Clarke Duncan and never really realized the depth of his career beyond the Green mile, Armageddon, and a few cameos here and there like on two and a half men and one late night show.  I read that he was a body guard for Notorius BIG.  He seemed such a happy and gentle man and will certainly be missed...such a young age!  Really made me take a mortality check as I am going on fifty years old.  He was only fifty four when he died.  Enjoy life to its fullest my friends...it doesn't last forever.

I saw that in the paper yesterday. It was a shock to me to read that. I knew that on the news they said he had a heart attack a few months back, but then nothing else was said. So I figured he was fine. I liked him very much.
