Remember Johnny Carson?

If he were still around Jay Leno and Letterman wouldn't have a chance, let alone all the other current hosts.

I could hardly type this I was still laughing so hard.

Yes, I remember him when I was a kid.  My father used to watch him, and I would sometimes be up and saw him.

He was funny.

I remember Johnny Carson.  I also remember Steve Allen and Jack Parr (barely; I was a kid then).

Ah, the days when late night television actually was funny. I'm 27 and still consider Carson as the best late night host ever.

I sure do.  I used to watch him and loved it when he would have the blond girl (forgot her name) with all the animals from the zoo.  There were times he made me laugh so much I cried!  Leno & Letterman and all the rest are nothing cmpaired to him.  His timing was great!!

Yes Johnny Carson was definitely "a cut above the rest", as they say.

He always seemed to be knowledgeable about, or had researched, whatever the particular guest was famous for, had recently done, or their area of expertise.

This as well as being very well-spoken and always treating everyone with respect.

AND as oldbuddy posted.....what a great sense of humor!

Johnny Carson was the best.  I miss him greatly.  Late night TV has never been the same.

I put him right up there with Steve Allen and Jack Parr.  Jimmy Kimmel is getting close to them

I remember being over at my friends house, her dad was always watching Johnny Carson, I used to hate that show!!  BORING!!  I rarely watch any of those kind of shows.

I remember staying up late as a college student, to watch the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.  One night he had zoo animals on the show and this tiny marmoset monkey climbed up on top of his head and just sat there looking out at the audience.  He continued to do the show with this monkey seated on top of his head and both of them looking into the camera.  It was sooo funny.   He was also the host known for launching the careers of almost all of the comedians and singers that eventually became famous.  I miss shows like that and hosts like Jack Paar, Joey Bishop, *bleep* Cavett, and Tom Snyder.
