Why does there seem to be so much tension in this sport? And so many collisions?

You put 40 or so very high dollar, very fast moving cars on the same track, with all of them trying to finish first, and you are going to get some contact.  Some of it is accidental.  Sometimes it is from someone being a bit too aggressive.  Then you get people doing it to retaliate and things can get out of hand.

It has always been that way,crashes and high tension!

That is what makes the sport what it is. Of course this past weekend's race at Bristol is always a slugfest.

If Nascar wasn't full of tension and collisions, some people would not enjoy watching.  After all it would be pretty dull to watch if it wasn't for all the tension and collisions.  Think about it for a moment.  Fourty plus cars, high speed, going around a track would be pretty boring it it didn't have the drama.  I know I probably would not watch.

The accidents are part of the fun, except when they are serious ones. But there is nothing like seeing it live. My teenagers Jrotc unit will be going to the Atlanta time triels this week. She loves it.
