I agree, but larry silverstein   THE OWNER  of the WTC  complex   had the rights and the money  to rebuild  so he did

Because it happened once, we cannot stop or go backwards.  We have to keep going forward.  We have to LIVE our lives, not be afraid all the time  because of what some hateful religious fanatics or nut cases or going to do.  No matter what you do how well you prepare, if someone is crazy enough, they will figure out a way to get around you.

I would have rebuilt the exact same buildings right back in the spot.

Yes I expect they will target it again but I can understand building it to show we can't be beaten.

Yeah, that's about the dumbest statement I've heard all year.  Not only have they been building those buildings for YEARS, so you should have known about it.  You're basically saying give up and give in.  That'd defeat the entire purpose of what defines this country.  You think they were just going to leave the ruble from the collapse there and let kids pick through it for the next few decades?  Seriously, it's a commercial set of business buildings BUILT BY AMERICANS for business purposes. ffs

I'm glad that they're rebuilding the WTC. It shows the west of the world that Americans will never roll over and play dead for anyone or anything. I also think we should build a monument to the 911 victims in downtown Baghdad!!
