Could fusion cash implement polls in the threads?
« on: August 03, 2012, 02:59:51 am »
Hi. I am also a member of another site where they use polling in their threads. I wanted to ask Fusion Cash to also implement this into the members threads.  On the other site I was on you could add a poll that expired at the date you selected or never expired, create a poll title and create poll questions. Then when a poll thread was created a poll icon would be next to the thread so that other members would know that it had a poll.

Hopefully other members know about this and will be able to use it in their threads in the future. It also makes a lot of sense since this is a survey site and all surveys are based on polling. Why not allow members to have their own polls for their own threads?

Thanks FC for your consideration of this suggestion. I hope you can implement it soon.

EDIT: I apologize if my thread here is causing any confusion.  I saw another thread about polls just now where the admin said this:

The problem is that with this forum software the poll option is fairly confusing.  When we had it, about half the polls were mistakes made by newbies who were just trying to make a post, not a poll.  So for simplicity's sake I just removed the poll option altogether.

[edit: typo]

May I ask if the the polls could be reimplemented with a special addenum to the forum rules about them and a special forum annoucement made about them that was displayed on every forum? On the forum I was member of the most important things about that forum were put in an announcement that people could read in every forum and sub forum for their edification. Hopefully that way we could have the polls and the newer members wouldn't get confused so easily. I hope this helps, because I would really like to see polls reimplemented regardless if they were given bonuses or not.

I just saw that duroz. I apologize for overlooking it but I have edited my post to reflect what was said by the Admin in the other thread. Actually while I was editing my thread you were posting yours and when my edit posted I saw your new post. Please do read my edited post and what I said to the Admin. Hopefully they can still implement the polling process in a way that will make it easier for newbies to understand.

PS Your signature is pretty amusing. I smile whenever I see it.  ;D

The problem with polls was not from people who read announcements and rules, it was from people who don't.  The poll option clutters up the "start new post" interface and requires a separate link on all board indexes.  It's just not worth it, unfortunately.
