Rap music

I grew up listening to all kinds of music and hip hop (rap) was one of my favorites.  My older brother was into old-school hip hop which i like. Earlier rap was more like poetry to music.. some better than others, of course. My brother turned me on to 'A Tribe Called Quest' ..one of the best in my opinion. Most of the mainstream stuff you hear now is terrible and it's really not the best out there. There are so many more artist that you don't hear about like Tony Tigerstyle, Philieano, Kindrick Lamar, or Mikey M80 Walker (google them) that you may never hear about who have something to say because artists like Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa are getting pushed down our throats.
