I see we are once again being lectured by Mexican President Filipe Calderon "Because of the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, the American Congress must review its mistaken legislation on guns. It’s doing damage to us all,”.  I suppose he wants us to adopt the tough Mexican laws that prevent law abiding citizens from owning guns yet still allowing criminals to possess all that they want.  At this same time we have Obama and Hillary Clinton trying to force us through the UN Small Arms Treaty (Hillary has already committed the US to it) -- and who is the head of this committee -- none other than Iran...
Hillary Clinton will sign the treaty in another day or two and it takes precedence over our constitution so effectively eliminates the second amendment.  The right to bear arms is going down the tubes and the American people don't even know it's happening.  Once it's signed by the President that's it.

Stop spreading mis-information please.

What mis-information?  Look closely at this treaty and the wording contained within it -- oh wait you cannot as they will not let such be seen and are guarding it closely.  The next best thing then is to look at the historical versions of this treaty that we previously would not commit to.  While it doesn't innately override The Constitution, it does make those points challengeable in courts and in its current form it would put civilian small arms and ammunition under potential jurisdiction of foreign nations.

Perhaps you should read what I posted.  In order for the treaty to go through 2/3rd of congress would have to approve it.

Please tell me how two thirds of the senate is going to pass this bill with a republican house in the majority.

This is all fear mongering, and you're playing right into their hands.

Do you want to know how two/thirds of the senate is going to pass this treaty with a republican house in the majority?  Well it is quite easy to tell you that as the house has no vote in ratifying a treat and that is done entirely by the Senate which is under Democratic control!

Politifact is not unbiased, so that pretty much negates any arguments quoting that wacko website.
then find me a better source.  Politifact may not be perfect, but its no slanted so far left or right like MSNBC and FOX

No, but I do think the assault weapons should be closely monitored, and when you see an individual buying a lot of ammo guns it should be looked into.

Finding sources can be a difficult thing to do.  I usually tend to source to multiple areas -- those that are agreeable with the current political power and those that are against it.  While it would be good to say you just check the neutrals it is hard to find anything like that these days.  You are best to check them all, honestly, and this makes it more difficult for us.  Since the best purpose of the media is to hold the government accountable you are likely to be better off going to those sources which are critical of the current political powers (but don't blindly do this and only use them as a starting point and then spread out to the others).  Never depend on a single source -- especially these days as bias seems to be within them all at least some of the time.

Maybe that would be a good idea. I think we have to worry about our state of mind too and treat the underlying conditions that may cause people to go crazy though like depression, stress and anxiety. Our country is in hyperdrive with no signs of slowing down and I think we all need to relax, take a deep breath and take care of ourselves and each other and maybe we wouldn't have a lot of problems like we do...

I am mistaken, but the senate still has to get 2/3 the vote.  Do you really think that 13 republicans are going to vote for a bill to ban guns?  Hell, you'd have democrats voting against it before any republican defected on that vote.

Again, it won't happen, stop pretending it will.

I think it would only require 7 republicans if I have correct information on the makeup of the senate.  While I don't see this happening I have learned a long time ago to never trust politicians.  I don't think it will get all of the Democrat votes either, honestly.  I am not pretending that it will, but such a thing honestly receive 0 votes before I felt 'comfortable' -- and while I may have implied that the ratification process was 'quite easy' that is only because of tricks that have been pulled in the Senate under the leadership of Reid (who is to say for sure that he would not find some way to argue this treaty under taxation and thus only require a simple majority?).  I don't play Russian roulette for good reasons.

Any attempt at disarming American citizens entirely would end in complete disaster.  For starters, our police forces cannot even stop most of the much smaller criminal entity let alone their law-abiding friends and family.  Most of them would turn on the side of the civilians.  Our military would sooner kill their commanding officers than make any attempt at having to kill their own countrymen and women.  As for any foreign entity...good luck getting through Los Angeles alone with your guns, vehicles, or lives intact.  It would be funny to see all of my former homies in Inglewood, Ca. riding around in stolen UN vehicles.

No they should not be made illegal... After all, it's not guns but people that kill people. If you don't believe in that rationale then you should also be in favor of making pens illegal -- so that bad laws cannot be written!  ;D

No, i do not.  People kill people and if there are no guns then they will use something else.

I don't own a gun, but also think a person is entitled to protect them selves. There are a lot of gun owners in our country. Fore the most part you never hear about them, because they haven't gone out and shot someone. If it wasn't for the hunters our country would be overrun with wild critters. Then when when that happens they have no food, and are in our yards and then the bunny huggers would be griping about that. Also if the guns were to be taken away from us, then lets take away all the knives, baseball bats and cut off all the hands of wife, children beaters. Where does it end>
