I would personally go for clean coal.

I think sun is a great energy source.

Olly, there are a lot of people who would debate on whether or not there can be such a thing as "clean" coal!

I think wind energy is a good bet.

I prefer solar, but in reality, we'll have to pursue all other clean energy options. Nuclear and "clean coal" I'm a little skeptical about. There was recently a nuclear spill in Europe that poisoned some waterways, and we still haven't figured out where to safely stash all that nasty waste. About "clean coal," isn't that still an oxymoron?

i think we approached this problem so late that not any will be developed enough to be THE new source.  I think we will end up with a mixture of wind, solar, biomass, natural gas, and tidal to get us through until one really becomes the clear choice.

i'm thinking wind.
but it might be because i just caught an episode of
that show, "most dangerous jobs" or something?
and they were showing the construction of a giant,
GIANT wind mill in this town (forget where, but i'd
assume somewhere windy  :P) ... who decided to
switch their entire power source to wind.

i'm interested to see how well it works.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

don't like the idea of coal. and nuclear energy? sure-the navy's been powering away safely for years using it but, the accidents that have happened in the world- have been catastrophic!
for large commercial supplies: wind. solar is great, too.i want to use both for home use.
solar- anyone can use. the windmills- because of the heights some have to be, aren't allowed just anywhere.

Solar is good, hydrogen will be very good once the technology matures more.  The heck with nuclear and "clean" coal.

I would prefer we got it from wind and solar, especially solar, but I don't think that is going to happen...yet.

Definetly clean coal!!!!!  I don't trust the other options.  I know that coal will keep the light on.

I'm really hoping that solar and wind will become prominent in the future, though I agree with the comment above that we'll probably need a combination of sources to make the transition.

I have mixed feelings about the wind situation, there are pros and cons.......Living in the Southern California desert for 40+ years I have seen the beauty of the desert torn up as they put in "windmill farms" and it is equivilent to seeing trees cut down in the forests (to me).....they have THOUSANDS of these windmills in the Palm Springs area of Southern California and though we need them with the increasing population and energy demand, it is an eyesore to the land......it is a give or take situation and I do not know the correct answer to the call for demand but am just stating my opinion.........but if you lived here, what would YOU rather see? Picture #1 or picture #2?????
