$500 Victoria's Secret & Gift Card Offers
« on: July 20, 2012, 07:04:28 pm »
I was wondering if anyone has gone farther with these than just clicking through to get credit.  Have any of you actually done the offers required and received a gift card?  I'm looking for companies that are legit that some of you might have actually been compensated for in either Pay Pal payments, gift cards, or games, etc....

Very, very, interested.

i would like to know this too ive heard of a whole other way of doing online offers and surveys through sites like project payday where people pay you to complete those offers at the end on different sites and actually receiving free gifts. I am skeptical about it though and the site I joined a while back was confusing. Would really help if someone was able to explain this process to me with proof that it works as well.

No, you'll never actually get $500 worth on anything on these types of offers. It's a little deceiving and i think it's kind of a shady way of advertising for the people that think it's real. The real point of these offers is just to view as many of the ads along the way as possible. The more ads you view and things you say "yes" to the better chance you'll have to get credit for the offer.
It's also important to clear your cookies about 10 minutes after completing the offer, that way you'll have a better chance of getting credit the next time you do a similar offer.

I've heard some of these offers are actually real, especially if they're known companies or big companies. But the trick is, it requires you to go through a lengthy and tedious process and ultimately you have to do some sort of purchase and spend a lot of time back and forth and on the phone with the intermediate agents. I saw a lady in CNN that actually signs up and go through every offer she can find on the internet, including those "Free Gift cards", "Free laptop" or "Free iPod/iPhone/iPad" kind of stuff, and at the end, she had like a 65%-75% success rate of acquiring those items. But it required days and days of work and very stressing. And you have to read the disclaimers and the fine print really good in every offer you choose to do. I think because it's too much work, and most of the time, people never has success with them, they just say scam or fake, and I bet many of them are. But there are some legitimate ones, and even if they are legit, the effort and dedication you have to put into it, outweighs the prize, most of the time.
Just my two cents.

I've signed up for free offers such as free samples of this and that, which I got credited for, but I never actually received a sample in the email from the company.

I think it was fabric softener.

Those types of offers are the ones that you have to complete offers in the gold, silver, and platinum levels. All of those offers cost money and in most cases a significant amount of money. So by the time you get to your $500 gift card, free laptop, or whatever else they are offering, you would have spent over the amount of the product any way.

I've personally completed requirements and received gifts from a couple of sites similar to the ones you're talking about.
If you think FC pays slow, then they will really drive you crazy.  But it is possible!  You will have to sign up for a number of offers to qualify.

Hmmm, very interesting. How slow is slow?

Policies certainly may have changed, and this was only my general experience from some years ago, but credits typically took 30-60 days to post and then there was a rather long "submit for approval" phase, followed by another "4-6 weeks" for shipping which was a bit longer than that, too.  If you received the item three months after you started, that meant that you did everything perfectly and they processed you quickly.  Otherwise, 4-6 months or even longer was not unheard-of.

Thank you everyone for your input - especially admin.  I had heard of people doing this and actually receiving gift cards.  I think I would need to make sure that the offers I did, don't add up to more than the gift card value.  It might be a good way to buy presents for the holidays.  If I ever try this I'll let everyone know my success rate.

Can you make a significant amount after the amount that you have to pay for the offers?

You can get the gift cards, but if you read the ToS on them, you have to complete offers through them and most require a credit card. It's the same with the Walmart gift card, Dell laptop winner, iPad winner sites, etc.

You usually have to sign up for about 10-12 offers and after the 30 day trial is over you have to stick with at least two of the offers. At least that's what the fine print says while you're taking their survey. I am also interested in trying this type of offer.
