Round 2 - Important Information

I posted this a little over a year ago and thought it might be helpful to post again...........


This is mainly for newbies, or those who have not read the rules on the first page of the "Post a picture of your payment- or what you bought-Get $1!" thread. Every time I visit that thread, I see members copying/pasting their payment info, and it states in the rules that you cannot copy/paste, or you will not receive your bonus.

Please people......read the rules!! I'd like to see y'all get your bonuses, but you need to know what the requirements are. Here is the link to the thread for those who have not read the rules on page one.

Same thing for here in the forum....if you're not sure what the requirements are for receiving the $3 monthly bonus, read the rules! You can get there by clicking on "Are you getting paid to post yet?" at the top of the forum. Everything you need to know is on page one. Also, the forum tutorial video is a BIG help.....link also found at the top of the forum.

As always, if there is any confusion after reading the rules (Terms of Service & FAQ/Help sections included), ask away here in the forum, as everyone is willing to help!! I would also strongly advise reading an entire thread before posting, as often times information changes throughout the thread and then your post may not even make sense or be applicable.

Thanks for posting!! I question whether people really don't understand how to do these things or if they are just too lazy to look them up and read the rules. Not that it's hard at all, but you know how some people are.....if it takes effort they avoid it. If they don't want their bonuses that is their problem, I'll collect their bonuses if they don't want them.

Another thing that's irritating is that those who post that they didn't get their $1.00 bonus over and over, are the ones who keep copying/pasting over and over!! You'd think they would go to the effort to find out why and do it right. Lots of members are always in there telling them that they can't copy/paste, and Admin tells them to check their posts if they didn't receive credit. Problem is that they don't go back and read through the thread!!

And thank you to BOTH you guys for posting these comments/thoughts on this. I don't think many new people are taking time to check out how to do things before they launch themselves in, then when they have questions, they   often start complaining right away too.

And IceKitty-you are SO right on the not going back to look for answers to questions they asked, and/or posts they made.  (Not just with this particular issue either - it's kind of a regular thing all over the boards: Start a post asking for answers, and never return to see if anyone helped us)
 
But no - instead, let's just keep doing it wrong, and claim "I did everything right, so why isn't FC paying me?" and then post our complaints over and over.
And also maybe we will start a BUNCH of threads complaining about the same thing.

it is frustrating to remember the process for posting a screen shot if you don't get paid each month, but also in that the word program I am accustomed to Paint makes a file that is too large for the upload feature here so is always rejected so then I have to go to one of the other choices and that to me is a lot more complicated especially if one is not overly techno savvy, but if the $1 is worth it to you, you figure out how to make it happen, if not, then I guess you don't.

I really don't see how not getting paid each month impairs the ability to remember the process for posting a screen shot?? I know that at first it can be confusing until one finds the process that suits them best and is easy to remember. I know that on one or two different occasions I have given you step-by-step instructions, but since you seem to be having difficulty with the "attachment" option, here's what to do to make your file smaller so you can attach it:

If you already have your screen shot (jpeg) saved, open it with MS Paint. At the top click on "Image" and then click on "Stretch/Skew" ("Stretch/Resize" in some versions of Paint). In the box that opens, type in 50% for the horizontal & vertical values and then click "OK". Then resave your image. That will shrink it enough so that you can attach it.

I'd tend to agree with IceKitty here.....I have never gotten paid each month, it's usually every two months, and I managed to remember how to do this easily after doing it a couple times.

I wanted to add that when I did it the fist time, no-one helped me; I just followed the step-by-step info provided by Admin's first post in the "Post a screenshot/picture...here" thread, and figured it out easily enough.

A couple of other things:
*There are TONS of free online image resizers you can use (some are image editors too so you can use them for all kinds of different things) which require no download to use.

*There are also MANY free screenshot/screen capture utilities that you can find and use that are better (IMO) than the "built-in" one that comes with Windows. (These do require downloads, but you can find some that are very small, using very little disk space).

I would like to put in my two cents worth for the older generation.  First of all, let me say that after a couple of long sessions with trying to follow step by step instructions on how to post a screen shot, I did actually accomplish the process!  It was a beautiful feeling because I spent hours trying to do it and was not going to give up. Computers were not invented when I was growing up and the mere concept of "screen shots" and "image resizing" makes my brain vibrate. I need to post a screen shot right now, but the process is so complicated for me that I tend to put it off.  Growing older is one adjustment after another. Memory starts playing tricks on you and what came easily in the earlier years can be a struggle as you enter senior citizendom, and I have a whole group of peers who will back me up on this.  I will not be defeated by memory loss, but just because I've done something successfully once, a couple of months ago, doesn't mean that I'll automatically race through it the second time.

I did not realize this would be such a sensitive issue. WOW I am so happy for those of you who do not have issues with this process but on this one I have to agree with pstovall and the kinder more gentle way in which the matter was addressed. I would prefer and appreciate not being responded to in the future by either of the other two responders. As most mothers and grandmothers taught a good number of us, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Now I wish there were a delete feature to this forum.

Life's gotten in the way a lot lately and I haven't been able to cash out as often as I'd like, then I changed payment methods so I had to figure out how to post my payment all over again.  I procrastinate sometimes and have had tech issues, but I'm leap years ahead of my older brother when it comes to tech so it's all relative.  Don't let it get to you and don't give up.  Take things at your own pace, this isn't a race, everyone can go at their own speed.  It's okay to be where you are.  This should be fun.

Well that's just fine "Mr. hypocrite", who has been very rude to me on other occasions when I've tried to help you!! I won't try to help you anymore. My original post was aimed at those who NEVER read the instructions and then wonder why they don't get paid.......period. I never said anything derogatory about taking time to learn how to do it.....in fact, I said in a later post that I realize that at first it is confusing and that it takes time to find the process that works best for you.
