Colorado Fires
« on: July 02, 2012, 07:38:30 am »
I just want to say 'Thank You Lord' that we in Colorado are getting a handle on our fires. The High Park above Ft Collins, which burned over 82,000 acres and approximately 250 homes, and killed one person, is 100% contained. And the fire above Colorado Springs, which burned over 300 homes (acres ?), and killed two people is 55% contained (and pray there are no more casualties). Even though we have 10ish more fires going on atleast they aren't on the scale of what these two were. I for one would like to see a blue sky again. My heart and prays go to all the victums of these fires.

I am thrilled that the fires are contained, however, they break out so quickly that that can change at any moment!

Why, was your hypothetical supernatural entity out there making firebreaks, risking 'life and limb' fighting the fires?  Or, since you xtians belief such an egregore is retroactively-attributed with causing 'everything', that's makes such an egregore an arsonist responsible for the fire too.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Not sure about the definitions of getting a handle on them.  But my son passed through the I25 corrider and said it is still a mess up there and he could not get a room until he had driven down to Trinidad.  I am hopeful that mother nature gives those folks a break up there.  But am growing concerned that we going to have a repeat of what is going on up there once again down here in Texas.

We've had fires here in Utah, too.  I lost track of how many and how many acres have burned.  It makes me concerned because I've heard that a lot of them are human caused which means they are the result of people being much too careless.

With the 4th of July around the corner I'm holding my breath.
Have a great day!

It is an extremly bad year for fires in our part of the country, what with very little moisture. But then the east is in bad trouble also. It seems to be feast or famine right now. for our whole country. Then throw the congress and prez. in with it and it seems like no  end in sight.

There's nothing about lightening to be humble about!! Do you even live in these areas like some of us do?

I am equally happy to see that the fires are better under control, however, there are still so many here in Colorado to worry about. I think we all know when we built here that Mother Nature is fickle but hope and pray for the best. My thoughts go out to all involved and hope for the weather to change here soon.
