Less quality higher price.

I couldn’t believe it.  I found a light pair of lounge pants in a medium grey and had to buy them for the hot pink lacy top.  I’m just a sucker for lace.  They didn’t have my size but since they were clingy I thought the next size up wouldn’t matter.  I get them home and as soon as I go put my leg though the left pant leg the pants rip by the seam.  I take my leg out and I’ve got about an 8inch in length hole.  For the price I paid you better believe I took the pants back.  It looks like lately all one pays for is the name on the label because the quality isn’t worth a cent.

My mom just had toe surgery and the surgical ‘boot’ (which is just an open toed Velcro sandal) broke after the second time of use.  The foot doctor told my mother that you could un-velcro the shoe to take it off so you can put whatever pants you want on but only after the second time she un-velcroed the Velcro strap came unglued.  My mom started fuming that for something that is medical (since the only people that would need that kind of shoe are people that had foot or ankle surgery) it should be made more carefully.  I told her that everything is mass produced because it’s cheaper that way.  It doesn’t matter what the product is for, it’s all about quantity not quality.  So much for progress.

Most name brands for fashion are not always worth paying extra money for. The design may look cute, but the fabric quality is poor. I don’t buy a lot of clothes, but when I do I always examine the quality of the fabric, seams, craftsmanship etc. before I make a purchase decision.

I often wonder how some brands get to be famous for their name, when they are not good quality. Many of the name brands make cheap stuff in China, and it sells for a lot more money than something made in this country that doesn't have a famous name. I think people today have their priorities messed up.

these days, a higher price tag does not mean high quality.  If they carry a designer name, thats all they need to get some people to buy.  If people are going to buy your stuff anyway because their favorite celebrity says so, why be concerne about the quality obbbbf it.  I like to stick to the old establlshed, proven  brands ( Levis, etc, especially if I am going to spend some significant money.  To heck with what the celebrities are wearing.  They can afford to waste their money and they probably get the stuff FREE anyway just to promote the brands.
