Not me, that's why I left. It was more about dealing with clients that I had a problem with more than anything. The people I worked with were great.

My boss had 24/7 PMS and I tried to just agree with her all the time and tell her "your right". Then she crossed the line and I told her she was a miserable mean bully. I got fired the next day.

I think it all depends.  Certainly I have mentally decided to not share my viewpoint in efforts to appear to agree with my boss.  I have also involved or brought up topics which I knew he/she would prefer to discuss...even though I could care less.
Certainly if I know somthing make my boss happy---maybe bringing in treats for breakfast or something.  I say, why not?  Overally I don't want to put myself in a financial bind from doing nice things for the boss and I wouldn't want to compromise my believes to applease him/her.   But a little smile and a nod goes a long way when done correctly

I think it depend's on the person and the situation. If the boss like's your work, or you well enough, they will keep you working, even if you upset him or her from time to time! A little bit of good towards the bosses way doesn't hurt once and awhile! They should get some kind of recognition too!  :)

Um... what?!

If you're wondering what they're talking about, they're talking about "sucking up" to your boss.  I was wondering the same thing looking at the title thread. lol

Anyway, no I wouldn't act that way around my boss.  There's other ways of getting around a disagreement.  You need to be neutral and show no bias in order to benefit your company.  If you're having issues with your boss, you need to take it up with them.

I have never done that and never will even when I was working.  When you kiss *bleep*, you are not respected by anyone, not even the by the one whose *bleep* you are kissing.

if you think about it, just by doing your job right and efficiently you are kissing someone's butt. Usually if another person claims a co-worker is do this, it is because they are miserable in the work environment.
