You're right Falcon, but there's no way in Hell I'm voting for either Romney or Obama. Those two are completely bought and paid for and work for the corporations. The biggest donor's to Ron Paul was military personnel, I'll gladly back them up vs backing up Goldman Sachs. Yeah, it may be an uncounted vote or what not, but at least I'm not supporting the corporate puppets.

Then this is essentially opting not to vote and you could save time & gas by not going to a polling location.

My own view is that the presidency, (and vice presidency), should be national lotteries from which "professional politicians" are excluded. 'Winners' would have the option to accept or decline the office.  In the same manner, state lotteries for congressional 'non-elections' could be held to put some very surprised regular people into the Senate and House of Representatives.  Barring any 'fixing' of such lotteries, no one could plausibly complain about special interests and other agendas which were not already inherent in the lottery-drawn 'winners'.  If this concept is too much, too soon - how about a lottery for presidential advisors, (they're not elected now anyway; they're appointed)?
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

As Stalin is credited for saying "It's not the people who vote that count. It's the people who count the votes." I like your lottery idea, ulitmately it's a rigged game that the moneymasters are playing with us all. Dem/Rep doesn't matter, nothing of substance ever really changes anyway.

While all the details haven't been ironed-out of the lottery concept yet, others have given a variation on that idea some thought:
