I haven't make soup from scratch in a long time.  Although its better for you than all the junk they put in the soups you buy.

:wave:I love making fresh(from scratch)home-made soups.  I guess my favorite is corn chowder.  I saute onions, diced carrots and celery in olive oil, then I sprinkle flour over the veggies and mix them together over low heat.  Let that cook for about 2 minutes, then add milk. You constantly stir to make sure there is no lumps.  Bring the milk up to a simmer on medium heat.  Make sure you are still stirring your milk mixture to make sure that it does not scortch the bottom of the pan.  Once to a simmer bring your heat down to low heat and let cook down for about 20 to 25 minutes.  Add frozen corn about 10 minutes into the cooking time, finish cooking 15 more minutes. Then I add diced sauted bell peppers and ham straight to the pot. Let that cook another 5 minutes on low-meduim heat.  When it is through cooking I add some cream and s&p to taste.  And man is it good tasting.

I do make some homemade soups, but chicken noodle is the best ever!  Especially if someone is feeling a little under the weather.  Oh, I have a recipe for Egg Drop Soup that I like better than a lot of Chinese restaurants!!! Yum!

Chicken Noodle Soup is one of my favorites that I make from scratch.

My noodles plump up kind of fat, but are very tasty!  Mmmmmm!

If you're talking about making soup from a boxed or canned broth, then yes I do.  I don't make my own stock though.  I LOVE homemade soup!!!   ;)

I just started making homemade soup. Nothing tastes as great as homemade vegetable and chicken noodle soup. I want to learn to make mulligitawny, that's my favorite soup.

I make most of my soups from scratch starting with the broth.  That is the only way that you can be sure what is in them and also I can make them the way everyone in the family likes.  It takes extra time but I make a couple different types at one time and then freeze them to use later in the week.
