I think if it were me and I thought she was a great score I would at least ask him what kind of ponies he likes, and then reconsider just how good a score she is.

But seriously, no I wouldn't be concerned as long as I treated her right and she isn't Mississippi band with the first name of Jennifer or Oklahoma band with the last name of Carnes or Hill.

Although her dad no longer has a need for ponies now, I did mention to her that's she's worth at least 50.  He was partly Choctaw, (not sure which band), and not directly-related to those surnames, (as far as I know).  Although she once told me that all Choctaw bands came from east of the Mississipi back when and that some ended up in Oklahoma.
She is absolutely correct. The Choctaw Nation was included in the removal that resulted in the infamous Trail of Tears, and just as with my Nation and I am sure, the others too, not everyone was removed for various reasons. One little known fact was that if one chose to they were allowed to renounce their membership of their tribe and legal remain in the east. There was a law which stated that no "Indians" could live in the east. These people were then usually classified as White and they assimilated into the communities. There is a roll listing those who chose this option, but I can't remember the name of it right now.

It's almost as if they were precursers to StarTrek's Borg back then ... and perhaps even now?  She also mentioned that a few bands had simply followed migrating game from east to west prior to the Trail of Tears too.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I have no idea what a StarTrek Borg is. I haven't owned a television in over a decade and even before that I was never a Trekky.

The fictional "Borg" were cybernetic hybids whose primary purpose was to assimulate other races, rather than kill.

Where would the writers ever get an idea like that?

The fictional "Borg" were cybernetic hybrids whose primary purpose was to assimulate other races, rather than kill.

Where would the writers ever get an idea like that?

Oddly enough, one episode of the first StarTrek series dealt with a 'tribe' which had been relocated to another planet far from earth, millenia before being 'discovered'.  No doubt these were metaphorical coincidences, eh?

Not a chance; that's why it's science fiction.  You know, like orbital satellites were when A.C. Clarke first wrote about them fictionally, (as in, before there were any)?  Oh, wait ...

It was an interesting episode, for being presented in the late 60's:

I'd say leave if you need to. Give yourself some time off to rest your thoughts and mind. Maybe, by leaving for awhile you'll come back and discover motivations you never dreamed? Then, come back and keep on making money?

It really shouldn't even bother you that much to read and post in this forum. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and whether or not you get your feelings hurt, that's your choice. I never let posting bother me, if anything its a new challenge to me, it gets my brain and my thoughts moving, reguardless of what has been written. If you must go, go with a smile!!

The OP's initial post was sarcastic humor in light of a recent 'brave exit speech' by a different 'martyred' member.  The humor peripherally involves a situation where someone places another member on "ignore" and then proceeds to not ignore them after all. As the Admin has posted, the FC forum is a priviledge, not a right.

I too am sad that I don't get enough support on FC.  If only more barely readable misspelled rambling posts could be directed to me in support of my barely readable misspelled rambling posts I would consider staying.
