Do you believe that your family should always come first?
« on: May 16, 2012, 07:02:17 am »
I get up at four in the morning walk the dogs, make my meals for the day, do my point to clicks/surveys, and shower which is the extent of what I do for myself. After that I work until six PM, come home to work on a second job(if I am not carting the kids around), make dinner for the family if my wife is at sports which is three days of the week.  On the weekends I am doing my second job, yardwork, setting up the kid's activities, driving them to their parties, movies, sporting events, the mall etc.,etc. I might sneak a work-out in once per month and my body is paying for it. I have put on weight and my clothes are ill-fitted because of it.

I do believe that your family should come first because when things around you bring you down your family is always there to lift you back up :)

Yes, to me family comes first. I was raised that way and believe that if family was a higher priority on the list, the world would be a much better place. Have a great day!

Yes, God then my family.  We all need to put God first in our lives.

Family, of course, has to be a priority~but you still need some balance.  Figure out a schedule...3 times a week you should be able to find 1 1/2 hours to work out and take care of yourself.  (Unfortunately, when it comes to exercise, too many of us use "family" as our excuse when we really just aren't up to it and choose not to do it....watch out for that one! ) But, it can all happen, reasonably.

Family should come first. They are the people who should be able to turn to for support and help.

I think that family should always come first because they are always going to be there no matter what.

I do think that family comes first, that being said, I think families need to remeber that and set priorities that benifit everyone in the family (including Moms and Dads).

Family should come first. It is important to take care of yourself and be centered in God in order to be at your best for your family tho. Nobody can drink from an empty cup...so try to keep your cup full.

Since your segue into 'g-d' mongering occurred in this thread unrelated to the subject, that can be taken as an invitation to comment.  Being "centered in g-d" is not a requirement for taking care of your family or yourself; that's an entiely baseless religious opinion as there are non-religious people and families who are taking care without such a religious prerequisite.

My 1st comes lst is God so that my life can feel balanced and then comes my family and friends. I know if my relationship with Him is right 1st every other relationship I have will line up the way its suppose to be, in conversation, in encouragement, in putting a remedy to a problem that exsists.

How can such logic be refuted?  I commend you.

Since your segue into 'g-d' mongering occurred in this thread unrelated to the subject, that can be taken as an invitation to comment.  Putting a hypothesized 'being' first means making all else secondary to a superstitious belief.  Designating everything else as secondary to a superstitious belief means that subsequent decisions which rest upon that flimsy basis will be dubious.  Making dubious decisions does not benefit friends, family nor oneself.  Choosing non-beneficial courses of action is not balanced.
