My niece has been using coconut oil, milk and fresh coconut in her diet for about 2 months and she has lost weight and is getting her health back!  She is a young woman and was diagnosed with lupus 4 or 5 years ago and has had a multitude of problems.  She had not driven in 4 years but is now able to drive and doing much better.  It has helped regulate her metabolism and thyroid function.  I am going to get some of her recipes and I will post when I do.  She makes smoothies, etc.  I did buy a jar of coconut oil and have used it in a few dishes.  It really doesn't have a strong taste so I think I am going to try it for awhile.  I am currently reading a book from the library about the benefits.

Love the reference to Mercola's web page***
I use coconut oil as a salad topping.
It is used in homemade soaps for shampoo with other nature's ingredients[Chagrin Valley soaps]; don't know how it would be by itself.
One of my neighbors had very dry skin; he put some on his skin and it was instantly smooth.

::) ::) Coconut oil can be eaten, cook, and even made your hair in good-looking. I love to inhale coconut by my nose, enjoy it and excited with it.

All I know is that for the longest time the experts said that margerine was better for us than butter.  Now they have changed their mind and now say the opposite.  So I don't put much faith in what type of oil and stuff is better for us.  As far as how good it tastes, I don't know but I am sure it would be fine.
