I love watching fashion star. They really have some great designers on there.

I so agree.  I caught this show by mistake one night and was really impressed with the talent of the people on the show.  It is amazing to me that they can not only come up with such great designs, but put them together so quickly!  I sew and I can't imagine being under the pressure they are under and designing, cutting, sewing, and fitting clothing so quickly.  There are several shows of this type on tv now and I try to catch them when I can.  Really fun stuff!

I don't agree. It's a low-rent Project Runway. And since when is Nicole Richie a style maven? Honestly...she has done nothing in life to warrant this role. It'd be like Kim Kardashian being a mentor. Famous for being famous doesn't make you a fashion pro. And I don't care if she has a line of clothing...she's a low level designer and will never be on the same level as the Project Runway judges.

It seems to have so many commercials that I record it on the DVR, then watch it later and FF through the commercials. What makes this show unique is that the designers display their creations on the runway to the buyers at Macy's, H&M, and Saks 5th Avenue and hope the buyers will bid on them. This is the first time this process has ever been shown on television, to my knowledge.

SPOILER ALERT

For those who didn't catch the finale, it was pretty amazing.... Kara Laricks was the winner, with an absolutely amazing payout--6 million dollars! 2 million from H&M, 2 million from Saks, and 2 million from Macy's.

Funny thing is I was making fun of my fiancee for watching this show and I was the one who actually got hooked.  I just enjoyed the drama of seeing if someone purchased the items, I was not interested in the items themselves.
